TECH1 RACING AND LEXUS ON THE PODIUM AT THE FINAL GT WORLD CHALLENGE EUROPE SPRINT RACE

The final GT World challenge Europe Sprint race took place on the Spanish soil with a triple race meeting in Barcelona for Aurelien Panis and Thomas Neubauer at the wheel of the Lexus RC F GT3 #15. The weekend was quite complicated for the team: an unfavorable track, a frustrating first race, a mechanical retirement in race 2. But it came to a happy end with a podium in the Silver Cup in the final race.

IRON LYNX TAKES LE MANS CUP TITLE

Iron Lynx’s 488 GT3 Evo 2020s claimed a double podium in the fifth and penultimate round of the Le Mans Cup at Monza, securing the team title in their debut season. A challenging race, especially in the early stages, with three entries of the Safety Car in the first half-hour, delivered the crown with a race to spare and paves the way for Rino Mastronardi to take the drivers’ championship.

COMPETITIVE WEEKEND FOR COOL RACING AT MONZA

Antonin Borga was met with challenging conditions at the start of the 4 Hours of Monza, as the track was still damp from overnight rain. Several cars struggled on the slippery asphalt, but the Swiss racer kept it clean and made up two positions from his fourth-place grid spot at the start. He ran two smooth stints, but was rear-ended by an LMP3 car into the first chicane which spun the car around. He handed the #37 Oreca 07 to his countryman Alex Coigny, who also drove well on the drying track.

KESSEL RACING WINS AT MONZA AND AIMS FOR ELMS TITLE

The Ferrari 488 GTE no. 74 of Kessel Racing crewed by Michael Broniszewski, David Perel and Nicola Cadei won the 4 Hours of Monza, the fourth round of the European Le Mans Series, to gain ground in the overall standings. This excellent result was complemented by a superb third place for the Ferrari of Iron Lynx driven by Manuela Gostner, Michelle Gatting and Rahel Frey, which took a second consecutive podium after the one at the Paul Ricard.

OREGON TEAM MAKES IT TWO OUT OF TWO LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO WINS AT BARCELONA

Oregon Team’s Dorian Boccolacci and Kevin Gilardoni made it two wins in a row in the second race of the weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, the third round of the 2020 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season. Having taken their maiden race win on Saturday, the Franco-Swiss pairing again profited from a penalty for the #33 Lamborghini Huracán of Dean Stoneman and Patrick Kujala (Bonaldi Motorsport), but now find themselves firmly in championship contention ahead of the next round at Spa-Francorchamps in two weeks’ time. Currenly Stoneman leads the Pro standings just one point ahead of Boccolacci and Gilardoni.

PODIUM RESULT FOR WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS AT CHARLOTTE

The Porsche customer team Wright Motorsports continues its success streak in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In the sprint race over 1:40 hours on the Charlotte Roval, works driver Patrick Long and his compatriot Ryan Hardwick achieved second place in the GTD class under difficult wet conditions. This marks the third straight podium result for the team from the US state of Ohio. Meanwhile, the unrelenting run of bad luck also continued at round eight for the Porsche GT Team in the faster GTLM class. For both Porsche 911 RSR, the evening event near the city of Concord ended after just 20 minutes.

A J ALLMENDINGER RETURNS TO MEYER SHANK RACING FOR 15th ROLEX 24 AT DAYTONA

After announcing its return to Prototype competition with the Acura ARX-05 DPi starting with the 2021 season, Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) is pleased to announce the return of 2012 Rolex 24 At Daytona winner AJ Allmendinger to the team for the 2021 edition of the fabled endurance event. The outing will mark Allmendinger’s 15th Rolex 24 with MSR, having claimed three podium finishes in the annual race.
