BMW TEAM RLL RACING TO CLINCH THE ENDURANCE CUP AT THE TWELVE HOURS OF SEBRING

BMW Team RLL will close the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at this Saturday’s Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. With the GTLM class title decided in the last round, BMW has its focus set on a strong runner-up finish in the championship standings as well as winning the Michelin Endurance Cup title. Regardless of the ultimate outcome, the third season of IMSA competition for the BMW M8 GTE has been an outstanding one with a total of nine podium finishes, including victories at the Rolex 24 At Daytona and the six-hour Grand Prix at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

PORSCHE TARGETS THIRD WIN THIS YEAR FOR THE 911 RSR AT THE WEC SEASON FINALE

Porsche aims to conclude the debut season of the new Porsche 911 RSR with a win. At the eight-hour race in Bahrain, which marks the final round of the 2019/2020 FIA WEC season, the factory squad will again field two ca. 515 hp vehicles in the GTE-Pro class. In the GTE-Am class, three customer squads campaign a total of five Porsche 911 RSR in last year’s spec. The race on the Formula 1 circuit in Sakhir is the second Bahrain event this season. At the first outing in December 2019, Porsche locked out the first grid row with its two vehicles, led the field, but ultimately was unable to reap the rewards of their good work at the finish line.

The 2020 race season is nearing a close for K-PAX Racing, but the team’s final stop November 13-15 at Circuit Paul Ricard (Fra.) – coincidentally its first look at overseas competition within GT World Challenge Powered by AWS Endurance Cup – does not come without milestones. While the team had one previous experience in overseas endurance racing, this season marked the team’s first full campaign, which included an abbreviated season of four rounds in its series’ debut.

World GT Manufacturers’ champions Aston Martin embark on the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) finale – the 8 Hours of Bahrain – this weekend, aiming to record a level of title glory unprecedented in the British luxury sportscar brand’s history. GRT GRASSER RACING TEAM’S EFFORTS GO UNREWARDED IN THE FINAL OF THE 2020 ADAC GT MASTERS AT OSCHERSLEBEN

The grand finale of the 2020 ADAC GT Masters last weekend did not have the triumphant ending that GRT Grasser Racing had been hoping for. For the last stop on the itinerary of this year’s Super Sports Car League, the team travelled to Oschersleben near Magdeburg. But the Austrian outfit was once again out of luck. Despite strong pace, the three Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVOs were unable to muster a single top result between them from two problematic races. Tim Zimmermann’s title win in the Junior classification shone the only ray of light on a frustrating weekend.

The Porsche GT Team campaigns a pair of 911 RSR finished in special liveries to bid farewell to the GTLM-class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. At the final round of the season on 14 November at Sebring – the last race for the works team in the sports car series – the two ca. 515 hp vehicles will be decked out in an adaption of the American national flag. Emblazoned in letters on the underside of the rear wing is the sentiment “Thank You”.

BWT MUCKE MOTORSPORT CELEBRATE SUCCESSFUL END TO THE ADAC GT MASTERS SEASON

Saving the best until last is how BWT Mücke Motorsport would probably sum up the final weekend of the 2020 ADAC GT Masters season. Stefan Mücke and Ricardo Feller achieved their best result of the season in the BWT Audi R8 LMS #26 at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. They finished in the Top Ten twice and were the third-best Audi crew both times. Feller was on the top step of the podium on Saturday as the winner of the Junior classification. The only downside to their weekend was the fact that the BWT Audi R8 LMS #25 with Igor Walilko and Mike David Ortmann was still out of contention, because Walilko’s injury had not healed in time.

PORSCHE TACKLES IMSA SEASON FINALE WITH EMOTIONS AND GOALS HIGH

Porsche has a clear goal for the final round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in Sebring (USA) on 14 November: The North American operations team Core Autosport is eager to wrap up the season with another victory on the Florida racetrack. The works campaign with the two Porsche 911 RSR in the GTLM class comes to an end after seven very successful years. As a special treat for the many fans and loyal partners in North America, Porsche sends the two works cars to contest the race on the Sebring International Raceway decked out in striking designs. The special livery of the two 911 RSR will be unveiled on Tuesday before the race. The driver line-up for the season finale is also new: The Swiss works driver Neel Jani supports the regular IMSA drivers at the event in Florida. The traditional twelve-hour event on the former airfield close to the city of Orlando was originally planned for mid-March but had to be postponed by eight months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
