ESM AIMS FOR CONTINUED SUCCESS ON THE STREETS OF LONG BEACH

The streets of Long Beach California come alive for this weekend’s BUBBA burger SportsCar Grand Prix at Long Beach as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship begins the first of three consecutive sprint races on the 2018 calendar. Twelve Hours of Sebring race winners and Round 2 champions of the Tequila Patrón North American Endurance Cup, Tequila Patrón ESM is ready to get back on track for Round 3 of the IMSA Championship.

PORSCHE TARGETS SECOND WIN OF THE IMSA SEASON

Following the season-opening rounds at the long distance classics of Daytona and Sebring in Florida, the IMSA SportsCar Championship now heads to California. Coming up on April 14 is the 100-minute event at Long Beach, the shortest race of the year. On the 3.167-kilometre street circuit, the Porsche GT Team fields two Porsche 911 RSR racers against three other automobile manufacturers in the strongly represented GTLM class.

Entering its 16th season, the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, Porsche Carrera Cup GB, is set to deliver a battle between an even split of promising newcomers and seasoned campaigners. Getting underway at Brands Hatch on 7 / 8 April, a grid of 22 second-generation 911 ‘Type 991’ GT3 Cup cars will compete as part of a refreshed format across 16 rounds and eight race weekends, including one weekend in support of the European Le Mans Series at Monza, Italy.

NIELSEN, WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS INCREASE IMSA WEATHERTECH CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS AT SEBRING

Christina Nielsen’s second race with Wright Motorsports resulted in a sixth-place finish at the famously difficult Sebring International Raceway. Her co-drivers Patrick Long, Mathieu Jaminet and Robert Renauer powered through the Mobil 12 Hours of Sebring in the team’s No. 58 Porsche Consulting/Porsche Digital Porsche 911 GT3 R. Valuable points were added to the Wright Motorsports IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT-Daytona class purse after completing the grueling Floridian endurance race.
