Toro Verde GT is very happy to announce that Peter Mangion will round out its four-car entry in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB for the 2022 season, with the 2018 Am class champion making his return to the series.

The iconic Italian circuit of Imola will host the opening round of the 2022 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season, the 14th edition of the one-make GT championship and first for the all-new Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO2. Thirthy-seven cars are set to fight at the Grand Prix venue across all four classes, with action aplenty guaranteed.

Audi Sport customer racing is again one of the most important brands in the pan-European GT platform of promoter SRO (Stéphane Ratel Organization) in 2022. Eleven customer teams with a total of 24 race cars from Audi Sport will compete in the season opener of the SRO racing series at the Imola circuit from April 1–3. Audi will compete as defending champion in the GT3 race series Fanatec GT World Challenge powered by AWS as well as in the GT2 European Series and the GT4 European Series.

Following promising test days at Circuit Paul Ricard in France, Mercedes-AMG will be starting the new Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS season from 1st till 3rd April. A three-hour race at Imola’s Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari will be the season opener of the high-class GT series with another four endurance races to follow in the course of the season. Seven Customer Racing Teams will be bringing a total of eleven Mercedes-AMG GT3s to the grid that are, among others, to secure the title defence in the global manufacturers’ standings. In the past three years, Mercedes-AMG had managed to decide this intercontinental championship in its favour.

The GT4 European Series continues to go from strength to strength, with a full-season entry list boasting 50 cars and guaranteeing healthy and competitive grids across the entire 2022 season.

WeatherTech Racing is making a shift to the Mercedes-AMG GT3 for the remainder of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. 

Hong Kong driver, Jonathan Hui, has confirmed that he will continue to race with Sky Tempesta Racing for a fourth consecutive season at the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS championship (GTWC) in 2022. In 2021, Hui became the first driver from Hong Kong to secure a GT World Challenge Europe championship by winning both the teams’ and drivers’ Endurance Cup Pro-Am championship titles. He will be looking to continue to extend this run of incredible success, this year making the switch to a brand new Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup returnee Jordan Witt gets his 2022 motor racing season underway this coming weekend, 2nd/3rd April, where a new test awaits him – the British driver’s first ever visit to Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola.

Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari hosts the season opener of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup this Sunday, 3rd April, where Finlay Hutchison will make his eagerly awaited maiden race appearance with reigning champion squad Team WRT.

As the countdown to the first round of Thailand Super Series 2022 gets underway, B-Quik Absolute Racing is pleased to announce its first driver pairing for Super Car GT3. Henk Kiks and Eshan Pieris will share the #26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO 2, as the team starts putting together its biggest and strongest line up ever.

KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG) made a promising start to its 2022 Nürburgring campaign at the opening round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie (NLS), taking third place as the team prepares for the upcoming ADAC TotalEnergies Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS returns to action next weekend (1-3 April) when a three-hour Endurance Cup race at Imola will raise the curtain on the 2022 season. 

Since 1997, Porsche has supported talented youngsters on their path to becoming professional drivers through an exemplary youth development programme. Timo Bernhard, Marc Lieb and Earl Bamber are three examples of successful racing drivers who – over and above their world championship titles and Le Mans victories – have one thing in common: All three honed the skills for their remarkable careers in the Porsche Junior Programme. Traditionally, the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup has provided the stage for the young guns. This is where the juniors selected by Porsche can put their skills to the test. The international one-make cup is contested as part of the Formula 1 support programme and is considered one of the toughest series in the world. For the last 25 years, the Supercup has been the perfect training ground for this popular junior initiative. As a new protégé, Laurin Heinrich will kick off his maiden season as a Porsche Junior at the support race to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola on April 24. It is now confirmed that the 20-year-old German will drive the ca. 375 kW (510 hp) 911 GT3 Cup, generation 992, fielded by the SSR Huber Racing team.

Australian-based EMA Motorsport Team has confirmed the first track activities as part of the Porsche Customer Racing stable. The team will campaign the full Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship season with experienced Pro driver, David Russell, in the latest Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (Type 992) model.

Aston Martin will return to the Pro class of the Fanatec GT World Series Endurance Cup for the first time since 2019, as Beechdean AMR today announced its two-car Aston Martin Vantage GT3 assault on the world’s premier all-GT racing competition in 2022. 

Toro Verde GT is very happy to announce that experienced racer Jake Giddings will be joining the team as he makes a return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, some four years after his debut in the series, expanding the team’s line-up to three drivers.

Cumbrian sportsman Alex MacDowall is eyeing a major push for his second Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS Endurance Cup title this season, after being officially confirmed as part of Barwell Motorsport’s 2022 driver line-up in the world’s premier GT3 racing series.

50 years of BMW M and the 50th staging of the Nürburgring 24 Hours – this year’s Eifel endurance classic is all about special anniversaries. It will also be the first outing for the new BMW M4 GT3 at the highlight of the Nordschleife season. A strong contingent of BMW M Motorsport works drivers will have their sights set on challenging for overall victory. In total, BMW M Motorsport teams will field no fewer than seven BMW M4 GT3s in the Nürburgring 24 Hours.
