ROAD TO DAYTONA: SUCCESSFUL FIRST TEST FOR ALESSANDRO ZANARDI IN THE BMW M8 GTE

BMW works driver Alessandro Zanardi (ITA) has successfully completed his first test in the BMW M8 GTE in preparation for the 24-hour race at Daytona (USA) in January. This week, BMW M Motorsport and Zanardi spent three days testing at Miramas in the south of France. Although rain meant the conditions were not ideal, Zanardi was still able to get plenty of laps under his belt with the BMW M8 GTE. In total, he drove almost 700 kilometres over the course of the three days.

Jaguar today announced a further entrant to the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY championship. Viessmann Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY Team Germany will compete in the first season, which will begin on 15 December in Ad Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. At a press conference in Munich, the team introduced driver Célia Martin.

AUDI SPORT CUSTOMER RACING IN MACAU WITH 14 RACE CARS

At the street race in Macau from November 15 to 18, customer teams from Audi Sport customer racing will compete with both touring cars and GT3 sports cars for the first time. The race in the heart of the city is a classic on the international motorsport calendar. Audi has celebrated six victories in total there since 1996 – two in touring car racing and four with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 sports car.

For Mercedes-AMG, the legendary Macau Grand Prix is the grand finale of a successful GT season. At the Guia Circuit, three Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be out from 15-18 November with a top line-up to defend the drivers’ and manufacturers’ titles in the FIA GT World Cup. Last year’s winner Edoardo Mortara, racing under the Swiss flag, has starting number 1. 2015 race winner Maro Engel (GER) will be racing the #888 while the #999 will have freshly-crowned Blancpain GT Series champion Raffaele Marciello (ITA) behind the wheel.
