THE ADAC GT MASTERS ENTERS CRUCIAL PHASE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE LAUSITZRING

Fans at round five of the ADAC GT Masters can look forward to a hot and eventful race weekend at the DEKRA Lausitzring (19th to 21st August). The super sports cars line up for races nine and ten of the season, as the title race enters a crucial phase. Many drivers are still in contention at the top of the championship, but, with the field so evenly matched, there is now no room for error. The four series on the support programme will also provide non-stop action at the 3.478-kilometre circuit in Klettwitz. Off the track, the Family & Friends Festival also offers a wide variety of experience worlds on Saturday and Sunday.

DINAMIC MOTORSPORTS MAKES ITS ADAC GT MASTERS DEBUT

The level of interest in the ADAC GT Masters remains high. Dinamic Motorsport will be the latest team to make its debut in the German GT Championship when it makes a guest appearance at round five of the season. The Italian team will line up with Klaus Bachler (31/AUT) and Adrien De Leener (33/B) in a Porsche 911 GT3 R in races nine and ten, which feature as part of the Family & Friends Festival at the DEKRA Lausitzring.

ERA MOTORSPORT ACHIEVES BACK-TO-BACK VICTORIES AT ROAD AMERICA

Era Motorsport revisited the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship victory circle at Road America this weekend, successfully defending their 2021 LMP2 class victory. Drivers Dwight Merriman and Ryan Dalziel drove a strong race in varying weather conditions, once again optimizing strategy and performance to celebrate their second consecutive win at the fan-favourite road course.

MERCEDES-AMG DOMINATES THE ADAC GT MASTERS AT THE NURBURGRING

Drago Racing Team ZVO, and drivers Jules Gounon (27/F) and Fabian Schiller (24/Troisdorf), won a thrilling eighth race of this season’s ADAC GT Masters at the Nürburgring on Sunday. Schiller took the chequered flag in the #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo after 42 laps of racing to claim the second win of the ADAC GT Masters race weekend for Mercedes-AMG. “It was a great race. Our car was fantastic and we had good pace. We finished third on Saturday, now the win – I am totally happy,” said the 24-year-old. 23,500 fans witnessed spectacular and exciting motorsport, enjoyed action-packed racing in the support series, and set another crowd record in the German GT Championship at the Nürburgring.

THE KEEPER TOM’S GR SUPRA TEAM WINS IN SUPER GT AT FUJI

The FUJIMAKI GROUP FUJI GT 100 Lap RACE, Round 4 of the 2022 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, took place on August 7th at Fuji Speedway (one lap 4,563 m x 99 laps) in Shizuoka Prefecture. In the GT500 class, the two young drivers of the No. 37 KeePer TOM’S GR Supra (Sacha Fenestraz/Ritomo Miyata) got a felicitous first win, while the GT300 class the No. 61 SUBARU BRZ R&D SPORT (Takuto Iguchi/Hideki Yamauchi) got their first win of the season.

BMW M TEAM RLL TO START FOURTH IN GTD PRO AT ROAD AMERICA

John Edwards qualified the No. 25 MOTUL BMW M Team RLL BMW M4 GT3 fourth in the GTD PRO class for tomorrow’s two-hour-and-forty-minute IMSA Fastlane Sports Car Weekend race. Edwards posted a 2:06.289- minute lap around the 4.0-mile, 14-turn Road America circuit and will share the car tomorrow with Connor De Phillippi. The pair stands sixth in GTD PRO class driver point standings with a season’s-best third place finish at Laguna Seca earlier this year.

MEYER SHANK RACING QUALIFIES THIRD AT ROAD AMERICA

Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) will start the IMSA Fast Lane Weekend from third on the grid at Road America on Sunday.

MARCIELLO AND ENGEL WIN IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS AT THE NURBURGRING

Raffaele Marciello (27/I) leads the ADAC GT Masters at the halfway point of the season. After impressing in this morning’s qualifying, the pole-sitter from Mann-Filter Team Landgraf was on top form again in Saturday afternoon’s race at the Nürburgring. Together with his partner Maro Engel (36/Monte Carlo) in the #48 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, Marciello won the seventh of the 14 races in the German GT Championship to claim his first victory of the season and move to the top of the championship standings. “I am obviously very happy today and delighted with the win. However, there is always room for improvement. We must also perform well in the coming races,” said Marciello, who goes into the second half of the season on Sunday as championship leader.

THE WEDSPORT ADVAN GR SUPRA WINS ITS THIRD STRAIGHT SUPER GT POLE POSITION

Official Qualifying for the FUJIMAKI GROUP FUJI GT 100 Lap RACE, Round 4 of the 2022 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, took place on August 6th at Fuji Speedway (one lap 4,563 m) in Shizuoka Prefecture. The GT500 class Pole Position was won by Sakaguchi in the No. 19 WedsSport ADVAN GR Supra (Yuji Kunimoto/Sena Sakaguchi) for the second straight time at Fuji since Round 2 and its 3rd consecutive time this season. The GT300 class pole was taken by Gamou in the No. 65 LEON PYRAMID AMG (Naoya Gamou/Takuro Shinohara). These two teams will start from the front of their respective class grids in tomorrow’s race on August 7th.
