IMSA SPRINT DEBUT FOR THE PORSCHE 963 ON THE STREETS OF LONG BEACH

The Porsche Penske Motorsport switches from long distance to sprint mode with the Porsche 963 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship: next up on the calendar is the Long Beach event – which is the shortest race of the season at just 100 minutes long. In the US state of California, the two factory hybrid prototypes in the GTP category face their first street course. Four Porsche customer teams take on the competition in the GTD-Pro and GTD classes with five Porsche 911 GT3 R.

WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS SPRINTS INTO THE GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH

With the first two endurance races of 2023 complete, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship heads into its first of seven sprint races of the year, beginning with this weekend’s Grand Prix of Long Beach. In Saturday’s 100-minute race, the Wright Motorsports No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Alan Brynjolfsson and Trent Hindman, will make its street-racing debut, as downtown Long Beach, California transforms from a waterfront city to a professional motor racing circuit.

SEBRING PODIUM PROPELS BMW TEAM RLL TO LONG BEACH FOR ROUND THREE OF THE 2023 IMSA CHAMPIONSHIP

Following a second place overall, and GTP class finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 18th, BMW M Team RLL has now prepared both BMW M Hybrid V8 racing cars for the shortest race of the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar season. The April 15th, 100-minute Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach will be held on the 1.968-mile, 11-turn temporary circuit that sets a concrete-lined stage for an always challenging event.

WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS REVELS IN VICTORY AT SONOMA RACEWAY

The SRO America 2023 season began for Wright Motorsports last weekend at Sonoma Raceway. The Porsche customer team celebrated multiple visits to the podium including a win in the headlining series, the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS. Team veterans Charlie Luck and Jan Heylen concluded the weekend with two top-five finishes in their new No. 45 Porsche 911 GT3 R, while newcomers Adam Adelson and Elliott Skeer won the opening round, followed up by a third-place finish in the No. 120 Porsche 911 GT3 R.

PREMIERE FOR HAUPT RACING TEAM IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS

The ADAC GT Masters field is growing: Haupt Racing Team is the latest newcomer to the series and will field a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. In Estonian Ralf Aron (24) and Switzerland’s Alain Valente (26), two talented youngsters line up for the team of Hubert Haupt, who adds the ADAC GT Masters to his DTM programme. The new ADAC GT Masters season gets underway on 10th June as part of the “Festival of Dreams” at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.

Anthony Bartone (Miami, Fla.) drove the Bartone Bros Racing with RealTime Mercedes-AMG GT3 car to second place in yesterday’s GT America Powered by AWS race at Sonoma Raceway. The SRO Officials later awarded Bartone the win due to the Porsche, that crossed the line first, being disqualified for a post-race technical infraction.

THE HEART OF RACING SCORES TOP TEN FINISHES AT SONOMA

Traveling to the northern hills of California, The Heart of Racing (HOR) completed the first rounds of Pirelli GT4 America competition for the 2023 championship. The No. 25 Aston Martin returned to competition after starting the GT America powered by AWS season in St. Petersburg in March.
