The Bohemia Energy racing with Scuderia Praha Ferrari 488 GT3 (#11, Jiří Písařík / Josef Kral / Matteo Malucelli) currently leads the way after the first four hours of the Hankook 12H SPA, having completed 81 laps of the 7.004km Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the process. In contract to last month’s Hankook 12H MUGELLO, however, a frenetic opening to the second round of the 2019 European Championship has already seen 13 lead changes between six different cars.

McLaren Automotive has confirmed a multi-year agreement with IMSA – the International Motor Sports Association – which will see customer teams racing as part of the US- and Canada-based IMSA WeatherTech Sprint Cup season in 2019, and McLaren officially entered as a manufacturer for the largest GT3 championship in the US market. This announcement comes as McLaren customer team Compass Racing unveils the striking new livery for its 2019 challenger, in the form of the McLaren 720S GT3 which will contest the newly-launched Sprint Cup championship this season.

The Bohemia Energy racing with Scuderia Praha Ferrari 488 GT3 (#11, Jiří Písařík / Josef Kral / Matteo Malucelli) has qualified on pole position for the 2019 Hankook 12H SPA. Matteo Malucelli lapped the 7.004km Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in 2m 18.266s to collect the Czech team’s first 24H SERIES powered by Hankook pole position of the season.

Stoffel Vandoorne will complete the SMP Racing line-up for the two upcoming races of the World Endurance Championship. The Belgian will drive the Russian BR1 №11 prototype alongside Vitaly Petrov and Mikhail Aleshin in Spa-Francorchamps and in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Brendon Hartley who was earlier announced to race with SMP Racing at Spa has other commitments during the Le Mans race week and has agreed to give way to Stoffel in order to let him and the team be better prepared for the 24 hours race in June.

Regular driver Neel Jani (Switzerland) and test and development driver Brendon Hartley (New Zealand) have spent the past three days completing an extensive test programme at Calafat (Spain), during which they covered a total distance of more than 1,000 kilometres with the Formula E car. Autobacs Super GT Championship driver Sean Walkinshaw experienced a frustrating, and frankly bizarre, start to his 2019 campaign at Okayama in Japan on Sunday, 14th April, when horrendous wet weather resulted in the opening race of the season being red flagged at one third distance.

The 17th season of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, got off to a flying start during its opening weekend at Brands Hatch. 18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR) established himself as the driver to beat in 2019, securing a commanding pole position for the season’s opening race in changeable conditions, before converting into into a lights to flag victory in similarly tricky conditions. A podium finish in race two further underlined Harper as a title contender and leaves him heading to Donington Park – scene of his first Porsche podium – with an early three point championship lead.

Aston Martin will contest the 2019 ADAC Zurich 24-Hour race staged on the world famous Nürburgring Nordschleife (22-23 June) with a pair of Vantage GT4 machines run by the AMR Performance Centre and an all-star driver line-up that includes three-time Le Mans class winner Darren Turner, BBC Top Gear presenter Chris Harris and new works junior driver Jamie Chadwick.

After an outstanding run during the opening round of the 2019 CAMS Australian GT Championship on the streets of Albert Park, Scott Taylor Motorsport [STM] left the Australian Grand Prix with a big haul of points, Max Twigg with the GT3 points lead, Kenny Habul in third place outright and Scott Taylor within reach of the Trophy Series points lead.

The France-based team will enter a Ginetta G55 GT4 with pairing of Pierre-André Nicolas and Chris Vernet sharing the driving duties at Nogaro, which kicks off the 2019 season of the Race Ready-organized series in cooperation with SRO Motorsports Group.

WeatherTech Racing, together with Scuderia Corsa, will field the No. 62 WeatherTech Ferrari 488 GTE in the LMGTE Am Class for drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.), Toni Vilander (Kankaanpää, Finland), and Rob Smith (Essex, UK) at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, June 15-16.

Following the successful start in Tuscany, the 24H SERIES European Championship season continues in the Belgian Ardennes. The world-famous Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps will be hosting the second round, the Hankook 12H SPA (19-20 April). The 24H TCE SERIES and the 24H GT SERIES, both powered by Hankook, will be in action. Separate starting groups for the GTs and touring cars will be in place, adding up to a total of almost 50 cars in the field.

The Blancpain GT Series opened its 2019 season with a three-hour race at Monza, where challenging weather conditions made for a scintillating contest and produced a debut victory for Dinamic Motorsport with its Porsche 911 GT3 R.
