Mustang Sampling Racing will be looking to get back to the top of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship podium in Sunday’s Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the seventh race of the 2019 season.
Coming off of a big victory at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen last weekend, Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) heads straight into the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) race weekend for the Mobil 1 Sports Car Grand Prix presented by Acura on Sunday. The Acura sponsored race weekend marks the sixth race on the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship schedule for the GTD category.

Fresh from her SP8 class victory at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Rahel Frey enters the fray for the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia with Audi Sport Asia Team TSRT. Audi Sport driver Frey will partner Audi Sport Asia counterpart David Chen as the championship embarks upon the second half of its 2019 season at Japan’s Fuji International Speedway from June 5 to 7.
After four straight wins, the Porsche GT Team travels to round six of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship at Bowmanville as the leader of the manufacturers’ and drivers’ classifications. At the only Canadian event of the year, the North American works team fields two Porsche 911 RSR in the hotly-contested GTLM class. At the race in the Canadian state of Ontario, the ca. 510 hp nine-elevens from Weissach will again feature a livery reminiscent of the legendary North American customer team, Brumos Racing. In the GTD class, the customer teams Pfaff Motorsports and Park Place Motorsports each field a Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Strakka Racing will field two Mercedes-AMG GT3 race cars in the Total 24 Hours of Spa on 27-28 July 2019. The team’s roster of drivers will contest the notoriously challenging endurance event, held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.
On the eve of the two days of testing for the 71st edition of the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, one of the world’s most prestigious endurance races, a new Ferrari crew has entered the fray.
Despite suffering from a puncture in the opening moments of the six hour race, Whelen Engineering Racing fought all the way to the finish in Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, minimizing damage in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship battle. After losing three laps in an early incident, Felipe Nasr, Pipo Derani and Eric Curran fought back to finish seventh in the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-V.R.
Championship challenging Blancpain Endurance Cup driver Ahmad Al Harthy and his Oman Racing team return to track action this week, at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, for two days of officially timed testing ahead of the biggest race of the season – July’s Total 24 Hours of Spa.
For the 24 Hours of Spa from July 25 to 28, Audi Sport customer racing expects more than ten Audi R8 LMS on the grid. The 24-hour race is part of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. It is also the third in five rounds of the Intercontinental GT Challenge for which Audi Sport has nominated four race cars.
For the third consecutive year, the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve serves as the venue for the Hankook 24H PORTIMAO. The event in Portugal is the first of two 24-hour races in Europe organised by Dutch agency CREVENTIC, counting towards the 24H SERIES Europe and the 24H SERIES Continents, both powered by Hankook. With the event featuring the GT division and the TCE division, a good mix of GTs and touring cars is expected for the Portuguese round. Both divisions will have separate starting groups and prize-giving ceremonies.

Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) won the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen on Sunday as Trent Hindman, Justin Marks, and Mario Farnbacher scored a decisive victory in the No. 86 AutoNation / Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) Acura NSX GT3. The victory also extends the team’s provisional championship points lead (119-103).
Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts triumphed in the weekend’s second Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe race at Misano to secure a first victory for the 2019 campaign for Belgian Audi Club Team WRT.
Ricky Collard and Marvin Kirchhöfer have posted the best result yet for R-Motorsport in the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe. The duo produced a fourth-place finish at Misano in Italy, scoring points for the third time this season. Hugo de Sadeleer and Aaro Vainio made it a successful weekend all round for the team with a podium finish in the Silver Cup.
As the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK, closed out the first half of its 2019 season at Oulton Park, 18-year-old Porsche GB 2018 / 2019 Junior Dan Harper (JTR) emerged leading the overall championship standings. Two thrilling races in Cheshire saw victories for Junior Harper and George Gamble (Amigos Redline Racing), Harper’s other championship rival Lewis Plato (Motorbase Performance) added to his impressive tally of podium finishes with two further visits.
The Chang SUPER GT RACE, Round 4 of the 2019 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, was run on June 30th (Sun.) at the Chang International Circuit (4,554m × 66 laps) in Buriram, Thailand. In the GT500 class, the No. 6 WAKO’S 4CR LC500 driven by Kazuya Oshima and Kenta Yamashita started from pole position and ran on to win. In the GT300 class, the No. 10 GAINER TANAX triple a GT-R driven by Kazuki Hoshino and Keishi Ishikawa was the winner.
