AGS EVENTS AND ALLIED-RACING CLINCH GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES TITLES AT PAUL RICARD

The GT4 European Series drivers’ and teams’ titles were all decided at Circuit Paul Ricard this weekend during the final round of the 2020 season. Silver Cup, Am Cup and the teams’ title went to AGS Events, with Allied-Racing winning the Pro-Am Cup this season. NM Racing Team concluded the season with a double victory in France.

HAWKEY AND GRAHAM CROWNED AS PORSCHE GB JUNIOR KING WINS AT CARRERA CUP GB CHAMPIONSHIP FINALE

Porsche Carrera Cup GB – the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK – returned to Kent for the championship finale, this time taking place on the short and challenging Brands Hatch Indy circuit. Lorcan Hanafin (JTR) emerged as the fastest driver following Friday’s two Free Practice sessions which took place in mixed conditions. Ryan Ratcliffe (Team Parker) entered the weekend with a slim mathematical chance of Pro-Am title glory, he ended Friday as the fastest driver in the category, Am was topped by newly crowned 2020 category champion Justin Sherwood (Team Parker Racing). 

TITLE WIN IN THE ENDURANCE CUP AND RUNNER-UP POSITIONS IN THE IMSA GTLM CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR BMW TEAM RLL

BMW Team RLL rounded off the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IMSA) with a GTLM podium finish at the Twelve Hours of Sebring (USA). After 12 dramatic hours of racing, the #24 MOTUL BMW M8 GTE crossed the line in third place. At the season finale, BMW Team RLL secured the GTLM driver’s title in the Michelin Endurance Cup for John Edwards (USA) and Jesse Krohn (FIN) as well as first places in the team and manufacturer standings for this season’s four-race endurance competition. LAMBORGHINI CLINCHES IMSA ENDURANCE CUP GTD TITLES IN SEBRING 12 HOURS FINALE

Lamborghini secured a clean-sweep of the IMSA SportsCar Championship GT Daytona Michelin Endurance Cup titles courtesy of Paul Miller Racing at the season-closing Sebring 12 Hours. The Michelin Endurance Cup comprises of four rounds across the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season with a total of 52 hours of racing. The Endurance Cup began at the 24 Hours of Daytona before heading to Road Atlanta for the Petit Le Mans, with the 68th running of the Sebring 12 Hours completing the year.

PORSCHE SCORES ONE-TWO VICTORY AT SEBRING, WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS TAKES CLASS WIN

The Porsche GT Team has achieved maximum success at its final outing in the GTLM class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. In the highly dramatic twelve-hour race in Sebring, Britain’s Nick Tandy, Frédéric Makowiecki from France and Earl Bamber scored a victory with the No. 911 Porsche 911 RSR. The New Zealander celebrated twice after also clinching second place in the No. 912 car, which he shared with his teammates Laurens Vanthoor from Belgium and Neel Jani from Switzerland. After contesting a total of 75 races since 2014, the North American Porsche works team has achieved 21 wins and 56 podium results. In the GTD class, the customer team Wright Motorsports took first place with the Porsche 911 GT3 R.

WEATHERTECH RACING FINISHES FOURTH AT SEBRING

Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.), Alessandro Balzan (Italy), and Jeff Westphal (San Mateo, Calif.) finished fourth today in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts season finale.

CADILLAC WINS IMSA DPi ENDURANCE CUP

Cadillac won the 2020 IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup today with the No. 85 JDC-Miller Motorsports Cadillac DPi-V.R the top finishing car for the brand at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.

MEYER SHANK RACING CLAIMS 2020 IMSA CHAMPIONSHIP

Meyer Shank Racing closed out its four year IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GTD class campaign with a second consecutive IMSA Championship title on Saturday night at Sebring International Raceway.

United Autosports were officially crowned FIA World Endurance LMP2 Champions at Bahrain on Saturday night as they rounded off their record breaking season with a fourth place finish at the end of the eight hour race.

SMP Racing will lead a Ferrari one-two in tomorrow’s Circuit Paul Ricard 1000km after producing a dazzling display under the lights in this evening’s qualifying session. 

STONEMAN MAKES LAMBORGHINI SUPER TROFEO EUROPE TITLE MOVE WITH PAUL RICARD RACE 1 WIN

Bonaldi Motorsport’s Dean Stoneman claimed his third overall win of the 2020 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe season after a commanding performance in the opening race of the weekend at Paul Ricard. Stoneman briefly lost out to title rival Kevin Gilardoni (Oregon Team) after the pit-stops but wrestled the lead back with 20 minutes remaining to secure the victory.

ONE-TWO FOR PORSCHE AT THE WEC SEASON FINALE

The Porsche GT Team has wrapped up the 2019/2020 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC with positions one and two in the GTE-Pro category. Frenchman Kévin Estre and Michael Christensen from Denmark took up the eight-hour race on the Bahrain International Circuit from pole position and crossed the finish line in first place. Their teammates Richard Lietz (Austria) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) fought their way from fourth at the start to finish in second place. For the sports car manufacturer, this is the third victory out of eight WEC races with the newly developed ca. 515 hp 911 RSR. Fourteen months ago, Porsche won the season-opening round at Silverstone in Great Britain – on that occasion, Lietz/Bruni took the flag ahead of Estre/Christensen. In August, the French-Danish duo reciprocated with a victory at the Spa-Francorchamps six-hour race.

Jim Pace passed away on November 13 in Memphis, Tennessee after contracting COVID-19.

POLE POSITION FOR WRIGHT MOTORSPORTS AT THE 12 HOURS OF SEBRING

The Porsche customer team Wright Motorsports has secured pole position in the GTD class for the twelve-hour race at Sebring. The squad from the US state of Ohio has laid excellent foundations in the open fight for the championship title. Heading to the finale of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the gap to the top in the overall classification is just seven points. In the faster GTLM category, the two ca. 515 hp Porsche 911 RSR fielded by the factory team start from positions five and six.

The Konica Minolta Cadillac DPi-V.R will start the season finale IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Twelve Hours of Sebring on the front row in second.

PORSCHE STARTS WEC FINALE IN BAHRAIN FROM POLE POSITION

The Porsche GT Team has secured a very strong starting position in the qualifying for the final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC in Bahrain: The two ca. 515 hp Porsche 911 RSR take up the eight-hour race on Saturday from pole position and the second grid row of the GTE Pro category. Denmark’s Michael Christensen and Kévin Estre from France claimed the first grid spot in their class with an average time of 1:56.505 minutes. This result was determined by the fastest lap of both drivers. Setting a time of 1:57.124 minutes, their teammates Richard Lietz (Austria) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) concluded the final 20-minute session on fourth place.
