BMW TEAM RLL READY FOR REDEMPTION AT 2021 TWELVE HOURS OF SEBRING

The Sebring International Raceway has been a successful venue for BMW Team RLL. From 2010 through the 2020 season the team has totaled two victories, four second and three third place finishes at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship 12 Hours of Sebring. Last year, with the race’s traditional March date delayed until November because of the Covid-19 pandemic, BMW Team RLL came within minutes of adding a third GTLM class victory before being punted out of the lead by an over-anxious GTD class competitor running into the rear of the No. 25 BMW M8 GTE with some 10 minutes remaining in the race. Only four months later, BMW Team RLL is ready for redemption.

While former champion Robert Renauer (35/Vierkirchen) again lines up alongside Sven Müller (29/Bingen am Rhein), Klaus Bachler (29/A) and Porsche works driver Simona De Silvestro (32/CH) will share the driving duties in the team’s second 911 GT3 R for the first time. The driver line-up for the German GT Championship was revealed on Sunday in the latest episode of PS on Air – The Ravenol ADAC GT Masters Talk. Motorsport Arena Oschersleben hosts the opening round of this season’s ADAC GT Masters from 14th to 16th May.

HTP WINWARD RACING WITH A STRONG DRIVER DUO IN ADAC GT MASTERS

The “Mamba” will be looking to strike again this season: Mann-Filter Team Landgraf – HTP WWR lines up with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo in the ADAC GT Masters again in 2021. The car with the striking, luminous-yellow snake-like livery will be driven in the German GT Championship by Mercedes-AMG drivers Maximilian Buhk (28/Hamburg) and Raffaele Marciello (26/I). This season’s ADAC GT Masters kicks off from 14th to 16th May at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.

GLOBAL TITLE BATTLE BEGINS WITH BACK-TO-BACK EVENTS FOR GT WORLD CHALLENGE

The 2021 Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS season is underway following the opening American event at Sonoma Raceway (6-7 March), which is quickly followed by this weekend’s inaugural Australian contest at Phillip Island (12-14 March).

Era Motorsport’s sophomore season in professional sports car racing has been one for the history books, with the team kicking the year off with victory at the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January, followed by clinching the Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 Am championship in February. In addition to running the full LMP2 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Era has also secured entry into the 24 Hours of Le Mans and has confirmed participation in the European Le Mans Series, both with IDEC Sport. Kyle Tilley, Dwight Merriman, and Ryan Dalziel, who all drive in the IMSA effort, will be the three drivers in both the Le Mans and ELMS entries.
