“Talented Senior driver RYAN NORBERG becomes Racing Ambassador”
Orlando Kart Center (OKC), located just miles from Florida’s most popular tourist attractions,is one of the premier karting facilities in the country. The 0.7-mile racing circuit with 13 turns, challenging chicanes along with several tight hairpins, has become known as a driver’s track because of the many great passing opportunities exposed while racing. This past year the Orlando based kart circuit hosted two of the highest profile racing series, the United States Nationals for ROK Cup USA as well as the popular Florida Winter Tour.
Owner Andre Martins said, “I’ve been in karting for over 25 years, raced all over the world, and it has always been a goal of mine to create a world class karting facility.” This past year OKC has made some dynamic improvements by adding a professional covered tech area with additional room for secured parc ferme. Also added this past year was an upgraded timing and scoring system featuring the ability to view lap times from your cell phone as well as track splits. Also, over 40 plus rental garages have been added along with a raised viewing mezzanine area exclusively designed for drivers and mechanics. In addition, for those who come to just enjoy the races and support their drivers, the facility now has two different raised spectator viewing sites and a full service restaurant area serving delicious sandwiches, pizza, salads and popular cold drinks.
Martins continues, “Along with my ongoing efforts to promote Orlando Kart Center and what we do, I decided tocreate the new position for the 2016 racing season. I’m calling it our Racing Ambassador. When I thought of a mature driver who would best fit that description as well as a driver I could trust with our brand, Ryan Norberg came to mind. His racing story and success really fits what Orlando Kart Center is all about.”
As the OKC Racing Ambassador for 2016, Norberg will be promoting the OKC brand while attending racing events around the county. Also for those who frequently visit OKC, Norberg will be there on site to help support OKC’s customers, provide driving coaching and assist with the local OKC race series called the Orlando Kart Challenge.
“As OKC’s Racing Ambassador, I am really looking forward to representing the Orlando Kart Center this next year. OKC has been my home track ever since I started karting, and it is an honor to be able to represent what I feel is one of the best karting venues in the country. Andre has great passion for racing and his unbelievable work ethic is something that personally challenges me. I really think we will create some great opportunities to highlight the best that Orlando Kart Center has to offer. I am also very excited to be able to help up-and-coming drivers with coaching as well as understanding the feel and speed of a true open wheel racing kart,” states Norberg.
