Toyota’s Force of Nature
Toyota has marked its comeback to the FIA World Rally Championship with a spectacular new video containing exciting action from its 2017 campaign mixed with historic footage.
Force of Nature celebrates Jari-Matti Latvala’s unexpected victory at February’s Rally Sweden and the Finn’s second place at the season-opening Rallye Monte Carlo three weeks earlier.
The Japanese manufacturer returned to the WRC this season with its Yaris World Rally Car after exiting the series in 1999.
In the previous decade Toyota won four drivers’ and three manufacturers’ titles with legendary drivers including Carlos Sainz, Juha Kankkunen and Didier Auriol.
The trio is also featured with action of the title-winning Celica GT-Four and Corolla World Rally Car in iconic events such as Kenya’s Safari Rally.
The video also marks the announcement at this month’s Geneva Motor Show of Toyota’s new Yaris GRMN hot hatch road car, which was inspired by the company’s WRC return. Powered by a new 1.8-litre supercharged engine, it will go on sale in Europe in early 2018.
