Dominating free practice, pole position in qualifying with the track record and a victory gained after 2 hours and 40 minutes of a flawless race, running in the lead from the green flag to the checkered.

This is the summary of the race weekend at VIRginia International Raceway, scene of the tenth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, where the #48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 has earned its well-deserved first win of the season in GT Daytona class, the category reserved for GT3 cars.

The stunning 3,26 mile circuit of Alton, Virginia, was particularly favorable to the characteristics of the Huracán GT3. During free practice, in fact, the best lap time in GTD class was scored by GT3 Junior Driver Corey Lewis with the #16 Lamborghini of Change Racing.

In qualifying it was the other member of the Lamborghini Squadra Corse GT3 Junior Program, the 21 year-old Madison Snow of Paul Miller Racing, who gained his first pole position of the season with a lap time of 1’44″956, the new track record in the GTD class.

Starting from the pole position, Madison Snow, who just few hours before had taken part in the fourth round of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo North America on the same track, led the first part of the race with a double stint and over an hour and a half of solid driving. Snow and the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 of Paul Miller Racing managed to maintain a manageable gap to the direct pursuer’s Audi R8 LMS GT3s of Stevenson Motorsport and Magnus Racing thanks to a fast and consistent race pace. Having also scored the second fastest lap of the race in GTD class (1’45″030, the best one was 1’44”867 of Change Racing’ Lamborghini), Madison Snow handed the wheel of the Huracán GT3 to his teammate Bryan Sellers for the last hour of the race. Sellers managed the advantage and led to the first well-deserved victory of the season the #48 Paul Miller Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The race ended with sixth and eleventh positions for the other two Lamborghini Huracán GT3s, respectively for those of Change Racing and Dream Racing. Both fighting for the top positions in the first part of the race, the two Lamborghinis had to deal with more unplanned pit stops which made them lose track position.

The next round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will be the Lone Star Le Mans scheduled on September 17 and 18 at the Circuit of The Americas at Austin, Texas.
