MERCEDES-AMG MOTORSPORT HEADING TO INDIANAPOLIS 8 HOUR WITH HIGH AMBITIONS

Eleven weeks after the action-packed TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa, the second round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli beckons this weekend. The Indianapolis 8 Hour Presented by AWS, held at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway, will have its second running following the inaugural event held last year. With a high-quality line-up of seven Mercedes-AMG GT3s in total, five Customer Racing Teams will be aiming at a top result in the eight-hour race.

In the decisive phase of the 2021 season, Audi’s customer teams remain on course for success: The overall title in Italy, a fifth championship success in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS, class titles on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife as well as overall and class titles for the Audi RS 3 LMS in touring car racing contribute to a strong tally. In the overall total since the start of the program in 2009, the number of all titles won by the Audi R8 LMS GT3 exceeded the 200 mark with a total of 86 drivers titles and 117 additional successes in other categories at the weekend.

Porsche Carrera Cup North America Presented by the Cayman Islands championship leader Seb Priaulx (United Kingdom) added to his points gap in a dramatic Round 13 of the premier one-make series at VIRginia International Raceway (VIR). The driver of the No. 15 Kelly-Moss Road and Race Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car entered the 45-minute race on Sunday, October 10, with a 34 point lead over teammate Kay van Berlo (Netherlands) who had driven the No. 3 Kelly-Moss Road and Race Porsche to victory in Saturday’s Round 12. However, a first lap incident ended the Dutchman’s day against the Turn Two barrier of the 3.27-mile, 17-turn track in Alton, Virginia. His 13th-place finish coupled with Priaulx’s victory nearly doubled the Brit’s led to 61 markers leaving the penultimate weekend of the inaugural season of the all-Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car series.

UNITED AUTOSPORTS CROWNED 2021 GT4 EUROPEAN SERIES CHAMPIONS IN SEASON FINALE

United Autosports have been crowned Silver Drivers’ Champions at the final round of 2021 GT4 European Series, to go with their Teams’ Championship win secured at the previous round at the Nürburgring. Bailey Voisin and Charlie Fagg in the #23 McLaren 570S crossed the line sixth in class yesterday, sealing the Drivers’ Championship with one race to go.

AUDI IN DTM TITLE FIGHT UNTIL THE FINALE

The 2021 DTM season has come to an end at the Norisring with an exciting final weekend and the title not being decided until the very last of 16 races. Kelvin van der Linde celebrates third place overall in Team ABT Sportsline’s Audi R8 LMS, while the first prominent newcomer for 2022 has already been confirmed: Audi driver and three-time DTM champion René Rast returns to the grid.

DTM TITLE SLIPS AWAY FROM LAWSON AT THE NORISRING

Liam Lawson suffered a bitter conclusion to the last round of the DTM, held today at the Norisring. Setting off from pole, the Red Bull AF Corse driver saw all his hopes of becoming the German series’ youngest ever champion dashed after a collision at the first turn. In a move similar to the one made in Race-1, Kelvin Van der Linde collided with Lawson once again, damaging the steering arm and almost pushing him into the wall.

Porsche Carrera Cup GB – the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK – arrived at Donington Park for the penultimate weekend of the season. Dan Cammish (Redline Racing) and Lorcan Hanafin (JTR) were separated by just three points in what would prove a crucial weekend in deciding the 2021 championship. The weekend was also notable for the arrival of Am category newcomer Ian Humphris (Valluga Racing), Humphris progresses up the Porsche Motorsport GB pyramid from Porsche Visit Cayman Islands Sprint Challenge GB.
