WHELEN ENGINEERING RACING FINISHES THIRD IN 70th TWELVE HOURS OF SEBRING

Whelen Engineering drivers Pipo Derani (Brazil), Tristan Nunez (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and Mike Conway (Great Britain) captured their first podium finish of the season in Saturday’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Twelve Hours Sebring at Sebring International Raceway.

ALLY CADILLAC FINISHES SIXTH AT SEBRING INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

Ally Cadillac drivers Kamui Kobayashi (Japan), Mike Rockenfeller (Germany), and José María López (Argentina) finished sixth the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring at Sebring International Raceway.

United Autosports crossed the line fifth in the LMP2 class today at the 70th Anniversary Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring International WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race.

SEBRING PODIUM FOR TOYOTA GAZOO RACING

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing started the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with a podium finish from an eventful and ultimately frustrating 1000 Miles of Sebring, which finished early due to a thunderstorm.

PORSCHE WINS THE GTE-PRO CLASS AT THE WEC SEASON OPENER AT SEBRING

The Porsche GT Team has kicked off the new season of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with a victory at the Sebring International Raceway. Michael Christensen from Denmark and Frenchman Kévin Estre won the GTE-Pro class at the 1,000-mile race in the US state of Florida ahead of the Corvette crewed by Nick Tandy (Great Britain) and American Tommy Milner. Richard Lietz from Austria and Italy’s Gianmaria Bruni finished third with their ca. 378 kW (515 PS) 911 RSR. The eight-hour WEC race had to be halted and ultimately discontinued a good 60 minutes before the end of the race due to a thunderstorm warning. In the GTE-Am class, American Brendan Iribe and the two British racing drivers Ollie Millroy and Ben Barnicoat finished third with the identical 911 fielded by the Project 1 customer team.

UNITED AUTOSPORTS WIN IN SEBRING

United Autosports have won the opening round of the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship at Sebring as Josh Pierson, Oliver Jarvis and Paul Di Resta finished first in the #23 Oreca 07.

MEYER SHANK RACING ON THE THIRD ROW FOR THE TWELVE HOURS OF SEBRING

Meyer Shank Racing will start from the outside of the third row for Saturday’s 70th anniversary running of the Twelve Hours of Sebring on Saturday.

BMW CUSTOMER RACING TEAMS QUALIFY AT THE SHARP END OF THE SEBRING IMSA GTD FIELD

Proving that it’s all about customer satisfaction, BMW Customer Racing Teams Turner Motorsport and Paul Miller Racing qualified the all-new BMW M4 GT3 in the second and fourth GT Daytona class starting positions for tomorrow’s 70th annual 12 Hours of Sebring.

PORSCHE TACKLES THE SEBRING 12 HOUR FROM POLE POSITION

The Porsche 911 GT3 R showed its full strength in qualifying for the 12 Hours of Sebring. At the wheel of the No. 16 car fielded by the customer team Wright Motorsports, Zacharie Robichon turned the fastest lap in the GTD class. For the race, the Canadian shares driving duties in the nine-eleven with Jan Heylen from Belgium and Ryan Hardwick from the USA. In January, the trio had won the 24 Hours of Daytona with Porsche works driver Richard Lietz (Austria) and thus took the lead of the championship. The two 911 GT3 R in the GTD-Pro class qualified on positions five and ten.

WEATHERTECH RACING TO START NINTH AND TENTH AT SEBRING

WeatherTech Racing will start the 70th running of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts from ninth and tenth on the GTD Pro grid.

VAN BERLO SWEEPS PORSCHE CARRERA CUP NORTH AMERICA AT SEBRING

Kay van Berlo (Netherlands) successfully swept the first two rounds of the 16-race Porsche Carrera Cup North America Presented by the Cayman Islands season. The second-year Pro class driver of the No. 3 Kelly-Moss Road and Race Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car charged from pole position to victory lane in both the 40-minute season-opening rounds today at Sebring International Raceway. Rookie driver Mark Kvamme (Columbus, Ohio) was also a green-to-checkered winner for the Am class in both rounds piloting the No. 43 MDK Motorsports Porsche. Kelly-Moss teammates Alan Metni (Austin, Texas) in the No. 99 and Efrin Castro (Dominican Republic) in the No. 65 split the Pro-Am class victories in Sebring, Florida on March 17.

PORSCHE SCORES TENTH STRAIGHT WEC POLE POSITION

The Porsche GT Team has locked out the first grid row with the two 911 RSR for the season-opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship WEC. Works driver Michael Christensen turned the fastest qualifying lap in the GTE-Pro class for the 1,000-mile race on the Sebring International Raceway in the US state of Florida. The ca. 378 kW (515 PS) Porsche 911 RSR remains unbeaten after topping the timesheets in a WEC final qualifying session for the tenth time in a row. Christensen shares the No. 91 nine-eleven racer with Frenchman Kévin Estre. In the No. 91 sister car, Gianmaria Bruni posted the second quickest time just 0.15 seconds off the polesitter. This season, the Italian again joins forces with Richard Lietz from Austria. In the GTE-Am class, the American Brendan Iribe set the best time, planting the 911 RSR fielded by the Project 1 team on the third grid spot.

PETER KYLE- HENNEY MAKES PORSCHE CARRERA CUP GB RETURN WITH TORO VERDE GT

Porsche Carrera Cup North America Presented by the Cayman Islands qualifying for the season opening round is complete. Kelly-Moss Road and Race picked-up where it left-off last season earning the overall pole position for Round 1 at Sebring International Raceway with Kay van Berlo (Belgium) taking Pro honors and Pro-Am with 2021 class champion Efrin Castro (Dominican Republic). The new MDK Motorsports program guided Mark Kvamme (Columbus, Ohio) to the top spot in the Am class. The quickest laps for each class will lead the grid of 43 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars to the green flag tomorrow, Thursday, March 17,  for the 40-minute Race 1 at 9:15 a.m. ET.

KCMG RETURN TO NÜRBURGRING 24 HOURS AND SELECTED NLS ROUNDS IN 2022
