FLYING LIZARD MOTORSPORTS READY FOR INDIANAPOLIS SHOWDOWN

Many race seasons have passed since sports car racing team Flying Lizard Motorsports has raced on the hallowed grounds of Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS). This weekend, the 10-time sports car racing champions will return for the first time since 2014, racing the No. 460 Porsche 911 GT3 R with Andy Wilzoch, and the No. 101 TKO Motorsports Bentley Continental GT3 with Memo Gidley. IMS will host the season finale weekend, where competitors of the 2021 GT America powered by aws championship will compete in two final 40-minute races October 15-16.

LOCAL FAVOURITES SET SIGHTS ON VICTORY IN THE GERMAN GT CHAMPIONSHIP AT HOCKENHEIM

Former champions, race winners and works drivers: A strong contingent of local drivers have set their sights high for their home event in the German GT Championship. The highlight in Hockenheim (22nd to 24th October) will decide who heads to the finale with title aspirations still intact, and the local favourites will be hungry to challenge at the front of the field at the penultimate race weekend of the season. The driver of the No. 15 Kelly-Moss Road and Race Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car entered the 45-minute race on Sunday, October 10, with a 34 point lead over teammate Kay van Berlo (Netherlands) who had driven the No. 3 Kelly-Moss Road and Race Porsche to victory in Saturday’s Round 12. However, a first lap incident ended the Dutchman’s day against the Turn Two barrier of the 3.27-mile, 17-turn track in Alton, Virginia. His 13th-place finish coupled with Priaulx’s victory nearly doubled the Brit’s led to 61 markers leaving the penultimate weekend of the inaugural season of the all-Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car series.
