A third victory of 2018 was more than enough for Dennis Lind and Martin Kodric to claim the Overall and Silver Cup crowns, while Hiroshi Hamaguchi and Marco Mapelli’s Pro/Am success also helped the Chinese squad celebrate the Teams’ title.
Saturday evening at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia, Paul Miller Racing, with drivers Bryan Sellers and Madison Snow, with endurance addition Corey Lewis finished the Motul Petit Le Mans in third place, clinching the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Team, Driver, and Manufacturer championship titles.

The Porsche GT Team has won the final round of the 2018 IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship. Patrick Pilet (France), Nick Tandy (Great Britain) and Frédéric Makowiecki (France) won the Petit Le Mans race at Road Atlanta on Saturday. In the race over ten hours at Braselton, Georgia, Porsche put in a strong performance against tough competition in the GTLM class. Thanks to perfect tactics and a flawless race, the ca. 510 hp Porsche 911 RSR scored its third win of the season in the North American championship. Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium), Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Mathieu Jaminet (France) concluded the last IMSA race of the year in sixth place.

BMW Team RLL closed the inaugural North American season of competition for the BMW M8 GTE with third and fourth place GTLM class finishes at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Motul Petit Le Mans. John Edwards, Jesse Krohn and Chaz Mostert finished third in the No. 24 BMW M8 GTE, completing 419 laps of the 2.54-mile, 12-turn Road Atlanta circuit in the ten hour race after starting from the pole position. Bill Auberlen, Connor De Phillippi and Alexander Sims finished fourth in the No. 25 BMW M8 GTE, only 1.755 seconds behind their sister car after taking the green flag from the seventh spot. The race was won by the No. 911 Porsche 911 RSR.
