Nissan e.dams has kicked off its ABB FIA Formula E electric street racing championship campaign with an impressive points haul as the first-ever Japanese brand in the series.

Perfect start for BMW i Andretti Motorsport and the BMW iFE.18 in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship: António Félix da Costa (POR) celebrated victory at the BMW works team’s debut in Ad Diriyah (KSA). Félix da Costa claimed pole position to start. In the race, the support of fans via “FANBOOST” voting helped him defend first place in a fiercely contested duel with reigning champion Jean-Eric Vergne (FRA) down to the finish line.

The fifith season of ABB FIA Formula E got off to an electric start today in Saudi Arabia with a double points finish for Panasonic Jaguar Racing.  The race saw the debut of the new Generation 2 Jaguar I-TYPE 3 a faster all-electric racecar with greater efficiency and range.

Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler scored points with both cars at the Formula E season opener in Ad Diriyah (Saudi Arabia). Following a chaotic qualifying session, Daniel Abt and Lucas di Grassi fought back from eleventh and eighteenth on the grid to finish eighth and ninth.

Simon Evans has won the inaugural Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY race, making history in Saudi Arabia. Evans started in pole position after qualifying was cancelled due to heavy rain in Riyadh. The starting grid was based on the results of Friday’s free practice session. Jaguar made history with the debut of the world’s first all-electric production based championship, which took place in the historic surroundings of Ad Diriyah.

Ahmad Al Harthy and Oman Racing team-mates Jonny Adam and Darren Turner are confident of challenging at the front in today’s Gulf 12 Hours at Yas Marina Circuit, after displaying fantastic pace in practice and qualifying over the past couple of days at the Abu Dhabi track.

TWR TECHEETAH have confirmed their entry in the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY, taking the grid to twelve for the first race. A quarter of the grid will be made up of women, who will be among the first ever to race in Saudi Arabia.

Team owner Richard Neary will contest each of the seven events while his regular co-driver Adam Christodoulou is also confirmed for every round apart from the championship’s visit to Donington Park in June due to his clashing commitments with AMG at the Nurburgring 24 Hours.

Porsche continues to gain momentum ahead of its ABB FIA Formula E Championship entry: Neel Jani has been signed as the first driver. With the experienced Swiss racer on board, the new works team will begin track testing early in 2019 to prepare for the worldwide, fully electric single seater series’ sixth season, which kicks off in December 2019. Porsche is eagerly awaiting the arrival of the first standardised chassis to install its in-house-developed drive train, which has already been on the test benches. 

The 2018 Blancpain GT Series now belongs to the history books. With the final championship standings confirmed, we have the opportunity to study the numbers that defined a thrilling campaign.
