Five local heroes are keen to finally bring an end to this long spell without a win in the third round of the Super Sports Car League this weekend (June 7th-9th). The ADAC GT Masters will hold its races at the fastest track of the year this weekend (June 7th – 9th) when 31 supercars will contest the third round of the year at the Red Bull Ring. Audi drivers Patric Niederhauser (27, CH) and Kelvin van der Linde (22, ZA, both HCB-Rutronik Racing) travel to Austria as overall leaders but their rivals, including a strong contingent of Austrian drivers and teams who want to shine in front of their home crowd, intend to challenge them for the top position.

GRT Grasser Racing left the Circuit Paul Ricard on Saturday with mixed feelings. In the third round of the 2019 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup at Le Castellet in France, the crews of the two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVOs did not have the best of weekends, despite their strong pace. Lamborghini works driver Mirko Bortolotti and his team-mates Rolf Ineichen and Christian Engelhart in the number 63 car still finished the race with a respectable P7 in a field of 49 GT3 sports cars.

BMW Team MTEK returned to the Circuit de la Sarthe (FRA) this Sunday for the official 24 Hours of Le Mans (FRA) test day and ran both cars for the full eight hours with only minor interruptions for set-up changes.

Lexus and AIM VASSER SULLIVAN are set to compete at Detroit’s Raceway at Belle Isle Park in a 100-minute sprint race on Saturday, coming off the team’s first victory earlier this month at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Scuderia Villorba Corse is getting back on track in France for a prestigious double commitment during the weekend of June 1-2. The Italian team is back in action at Le Castellet and Le Mans with its “maximum deployment of forces in an increasingly eclectic operation which represents one of the strengths of Villorba Corse, involved in several national and international series also thanks to SVC The Motorsport Group”, says Raimondo Amadio, Team principal.

The Paul Miller Racing team heads to the second round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Sprint Cup this weekend as the series rolls into Motor City for the Detroit Grand Prix at Belle Isle.

The Belle Isle street circuit is located in the middle of the Detroit River and within view of General Motors headquarters. A GM powered race car has won every IMSA race since the series returned to the Motor City in 2007. Last year, Eric Curran and Felipe Nasr took the win in the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac DPi-V.R and were the first to celebrate by taking a dip in Scott Fountain. Nasr and new teammate Pipo Derani have a win a Sebring to their credit this year and currently lead the IMSA WeatherTech DPi points.

BMW teams are looking forward to one of the major highlights of the endurance season on 22nd/23rd June 2019: the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring (GER). Four teams, with a total of six BMW M6 GT3s, will be in pursuit of the 20th overall win for BMW in the ‘Green Hell’. Numerous BMW works drivers will be competing.

The Audi Sport R8 LMS Cup returns to its home at the heart of Chinese motorsport for rounds five and six at the 5.5km Shanghai International Circuit this weekend, its 12th visit in eight seasons. Leading the field comprised of some of Asia Pacific’s finest privateers into a crucial mid-season double header is Australian Yasser Shahin of The Bend Motorsport Park.
