Strakka Racing began its 2019 Intercontinental GT Challenge campaign today at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the California 8 Hours, fielding two Mercedes-AMG GT3 cars.

TOP TEN RESULT FOR AUDI SPORT IN CALIFORNIA

Following two consecutive victories in the California 8 Hours, Audi Sport customer racing achieved a fourth and a seventh position at Laguna Seca, USA, marking a successful debut of the 2019 generation of the Audi R8 LMS GT3 sports car in this series.

PODIUM FOR PARK PLACE AT LAGUNA SECA

The new Porsche 911 GT3 R scored a place on the podium at its first outing in the Intercontinental GT Challenge. Works drivers Romain Dumas (France) and Sven Müller (Germany) as well as Porsche Young Professional Mathieu Jaminet (France) finished the eight-hour race at Laguna Seca (USA) in third place. Over long stretches, the trio driving the No. 911 vehicle of the American customer team Park Place Motorsports even looked on course for a win. The identical car fielded by the customer team Wright Motorsports had also led the race only to retire early with a technical defect.

BMW TEAM SCHNITZER AND WALKENHORST MOTORSPORT FINISH IN FIFTH AND EIGHTH PLACES IN LAGUNA SECA

The two BMW M6 GT3s finished in fifth and eighth positions in the “California 8 Hours”, the second of five races in the Intercontinental GT Challenge. Augusto Farfus (BRA), Martin Tomczyk (GER) and Chaz Mostert (AUS) from the BMW Team Schnitzer crossed the finishing line in Laguna Seca (USA) in fifth place after 326 laps. They had recorded the same result at the season-opener in Bathurst (AUS). The Walkenhorst Motorsport drivers Nick Catsburg (NED), Mikkel Jensen (DEN) and Christian Krognes (NOR) secured eighth place in Laguna Seca.

SCUDERIA PRAHA DOMINATES TO SEAL SECOND 12H MUGELLO WIN

The Bohemia Energy racing with Scuderia Praha Ferrari 488 GT3 (#11, Jiří Písařík / Josef Kral / Matteo Malucelli) opened its 2019 European Championship account in commanding fashion with a victory at the Hankook 12H MUGELLO. Matteo Malucelli took the Ferrari over the line to complete 330 laps of the 5.245km Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello and cement Scuderia Praha’s second victory at the fifth running of the event.
