SMP RACING DRIVER EGOR ORUDZHEV JOINS TEAM LNT FOR THE 4 HOURS OF SILVERSTONE
SMP Racing driver Egor Orudzhev will take part in the 2019 Four Hours of Silverstone race, the first round of the FIA WEC new season, as part of the crew of the British Team LNT outfit. Competitions will take place in the UK at the Silverstone circuit on August 30 – September 1.
ENDURANCE SPECIALISTS FRIKADELLI RACING WITH ADAC GT MASTERS GUEST START AT THE NURBURGING
Frikadelli Racing will compete in the ADAC GT Masters for the first time next race weekend at the Nürburgring (16th-18th August). The outfit from the Eifel will field a Porsche 911 GT3 R for team boss Klaus Abbelen (58, GER) and Porsche Young Pro driver, Matt Campbell (24, AUS) as they compete in the fifth round of the Super Sports Car League.
FERRARI ANNOUNCE LMGTE PRO CLASS CREWS FOR THE FIA WEC SEASON
The Ferrari crews entered in the LMGTE Pro class have officially been announced, a few weeks from the start of Season 8 of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The AF Corse car number 51 will be entrusted to Alessandro Pier Guidi and James Calado. After winning the drivers’ and team title in 2017 and following their recent triumph at the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2019, along with Daniel Serra, the Italian-British crew is aiming for a leading role.
ADAC GT MASTERS JUNIOR PODIUM AND POINTS GALORE FOR BWT MUCKE MOTORSPORT AT ZANDVOORT
After a summer break of more than two months, the ADAC GT Masters teams were back in action, this time (9th – 11th August) at Circuit Zandvoort. BWT Mücke Motorsport were there as the second half of the season got underway at the historic track on the Dutch North Sea coast. The squad consisted of Jeffrey Schmidt and Christopher Haase in the number 25 BWT Audi R8 LMS, Markus Winkelhock and Mike David Ortmann in the number 24 kfzteile24 Audi R8 LMS and Nikolaj Rogivue in the number 26 BWT Audi R8 LMS, this time with a replacement co-driver in the shape of Frédéric Vervisch. The Belgian had already stepped in for regular driver Stefan Mücke at the Red Bull Ring earlier this season and was once again substituting for Stefan who joined his father and team boss Peter Mücke for the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring.

SHOULDER INJURY SIDELINES NICOLAI ELGHANAYAN FOR REMAINDER OF SEASON
More than halfway through his first full season in the SRO GT4 America series, Marco Polo Motorsports driver Nicolai Elghanayan is forced to retire from his remaining three races following a shoulder injury. In a volleyball game gone wrong, the driver of the No. 71 KTM X-Bow dislocated his shoulder, which will require surgery and four months of recovery.
ADAC GT MASTERS TITLE FIGHT GOES INTO NEXT ROUND AT THE NURBURGRING
These are busy times in the ADAC GT Masters. Just one week after Zandvoort, the teams are due to line up again next weekend (16th – 18th August) at the Nürburgring. With only three fixtures remaining on the calendar, the title fight is entering a decisive phase. The contestants heading for the circuit in the Eifel will be looking to close the gap on ‘half-time champions’ Patric Niederhauser (27, CH) and Kelvin van der Linde (23, ZA, both HCB-Rutronik Racing).
