Audi Sport customer racing Asia has lifted the lid on its new motorsport strategy for 2020. Forming a central part is the new Audi Sport Asia Trophy that will reward privateers for entering their Audi race cars into championships across Asia. SHOWDOWN IN TEXAS: 24H COTA IS THE 24H SERIES CONTINENTS SEASON FINALE

After races in Asia and Europe, it is now time to head to North America for the season finale of the 2019 24H SERIES Continents powered by Hankook. For the third consecutive year, the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas, will serve as the venue for the Hankook 24H COTA (15-17 November), organised by Dutch agency CREVENTIC. The combination of the 24H GT division and the 24H TCE division is expected to result into a grid of around 30 cars. “After two years, our event in the US is now firmly established,” CREVENTIC’s Peter Freij says. “It is pleasant to see the growing interest from North American teams: about a third of the grid are teams from the US and Canada.”

ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE GTE WINS AGAIN IN 4 HOURS OF SHANGHAI

An Aston Martin Vantage GTE won its class for the third time in the 2019/2020 FIA World Endurance Championship season, as the British luxury sportscar brand finished first and third in the GTE Am class of the 4 Hours of Shanghai on Sunday. Meanwhile in GTE Pro, the works #97 Aston Martin of Alex Lynn (GB) and Maxime Martin (BEL) recorded their third successive podium of the season.

REBELLION RACING WINS THE 4 HOURS OF SHANGHAI

The third race of the season took place on the Shanghai circuit. Gustavo Menezes and Bruno Senna took part in the qualifying session on Saturday. All-two performed very good lap times, the Rebells achieved the first pole position of a non-Hybrid car since 2012 and the first one for a Privateer Team.

DOUBLE SHANGHAI PODIUM FOR TOYOTA GAZOO RACING

The World Championship leaders, competing with the maximum success handicap, faced a significant challenge from the non-hybrid LMP1 cars but minimised the damage by delivering a patient race and making up time in the pit stops.

AUGUSTO FARFUS AND BMW TEAM SCHNITZER RETURN TO MACAU

This coming weekend, the ‘Guia Circuit’ in Macau (CHN) hosts the grand finale of the 2019 GT season: the FIA GT World Cup. The top GT teams and drivers will battle it out to be crowned champions on the most demanding street circuit in the world. Last year, Augusto Farfus (BRA) and BMW Team Schnitzer won the title with the BMW M6 GT3, presenting BMW with its 24th victory in Macau. They return now with the goal of hanging on to their trophies. Meanwhile, BMW works driver Joel Eriksson (SWE) is set to make his GT debut in Macau with FIST-Team AAI.

AUDI’S GEOFF EMERY CLAIMS THIRD CONSECUTIVE AUSTRALIAN GT TITLE

Despite the best efforts of title rival Peter Hackett who went on to claim a second race win and the Sandown round victory in the Eggleston Motorsport Mercedes-AMG, Audi’s Geoff Emery emerged as the 2019 Australian GT Champion, the popular Victorian claiming his third consecutive title at the venue at which he and team-mate Garth Tander recorded Audi’s maiden endurance title in late September.

SEASON-BEST TOP SIX FIA WEC QUALIFYING FOR CETILAR RACING AT 4 HOURS OF SHANGHAI

Team Cetilar Racing celebrated the best qualifying performance to date in the FIA WEC, as Giorgio Sernagiotto and Andrea Belicchi set the average sixth time of the LMP2 category in the 4 Hours of Shanghai qualifying, early this morning.
