Cadillac’s four DPi-V.R prototype race cars kicked-off the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season by running laps at the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona International Speedway this weekend.

Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) finished three days of testing at Daytona International Speedway during the annual Roar Before the 24 this weekend. The test lays the groundwork for the IMSA season opener, the Rolex 24 At Daytona later this month (January 24-26) as the team prepares for a successful defense of its 2019 GTD Championship.

WeatherTech Racing had a successful Roar Before the 24 test weekend in preparation for the start of the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Chammpionship and the season opening Rolex 24 At Daytona to run January 25-26.

From 7 until 11 January, the state-of-the-art circuit in the United Arab Emirates will be a heave of motor racing activity with a packed grid of GTs and touring cars for the 24-hour race, a six-hour race on Tuesday evening as a flyaway round of the Dutch Winter Endurance Kampioenschap (WEK) and thrilling single-seater action with the F3 Asian Championship and FIA F4 UAE. The 15th running of the event will be celebrated in style.

PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports has announced their lineup for the Rolex 24 At Daytona consisting of drivers Gabriel Aubry, Nick Boulle, Simon Trummer, and Ben Keating in the #52 Oreca 07 LMP2.

Australia’s championship winning Audi Sport Team Valvoline operation will field three Audi Sport customer racing supported R8 LMS GT3 EVOs in the 2020 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, with a mix of drivers intent on claiming another victory for the brand with the four rings on the eve of the tenth anniversary of their first title in 2011.

Paul Miller Racing will kick off 2020 with an exciting new livery, and a partnership extension with Total Lubricants as the team sets its sights on this weekend’s Roar Before the 24 test at Daytona International Speedway.

The motorsport season makes its annual start with the ROAR Before the Rolex 24, January 3 – 5, at Daytona International Speedway. The three-day test session launches the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race season and title defenses by two Porsche motorsport programs. The Porsche GT Team factory effort looks to return to the top of the GTLM class standings with a new-to-North America Porsche 911 RSR race car while Pfaff Motorsports targets a second GTD team title with its Porsche 911 GT3 R racer. While no championship points will be awarded for the multi-day test on the 3.56-mile Daytona Beach, Florida-race track, a qualifying session for each class will help set the stage for the first competition round, the 58th Running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 25 – 26.

Corvette Racing returns to the racetrack for another season of IMSA competition, but this time in a very different guise than past years. This weekend’s Roar Before the 24 marks the first public running of the Chevrolet Corvette C8.R, which Corvette Racing will field for this year’s WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Australian GT have introduced the last of their calendars for the 2020 season, with the unveiling of a new approach to the Trophy Series program, a schedule which will see ten events offered between February and November, with teams given the option to go for ‘six of the best’, allowing them the ability to ‘drop’ rounds as they compete across the season to card their points tally from their best six results.

Team GMB will make its GT World Challenge Asia debut in 2020 after lodging a full-season GT4 entry.

There’s less than three weeks to go before the 15th edition of the Hankook 24H DUBAI gets underway, and more than 70 entries are already confirmed for the event.

LMP2 sports car racing team Era Motorsport will make their IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut next week at Daytona International Speedway. IMSA’s Roar Before the 24 will open the 2020 race season as the first official test of the year, featuring over 40 cars from four classes, and Era Motorsport will run the No. 18 Oreca 07-Gibson with team principal and driver Kyle Tilley, and drivers Dwight Merriman, Nicolas Minassian and Ryan Lewis.

Timo Bernhard (38, GER) has helped shape the sports car scene as a driver for some 20 years, achieving enormous success wherever he competed – in the 24-hour at the Nürburgring, in the ALMS, at Le Mans and in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the WEC – he triumphed everywhere. Since 2016, he has also been involved in the ADAC GT Masters with Küs Team75 Bernhard and began driving for his outfit in 2018. He achieved his maiden victory in the Super Sports Car League this year at the Nürburgring but has just announced his intention to end his career as a professional racing driver.

R-Motorsport will field newcomer Tom Blomqvist as the outfit embarks on the new 2020 season. The 26-year-old Briton will compete for the team from Niederwil in Switzerland in both the Endurance Cup and the Sprint Cup of the GT World Challenge Europe. Tom is the son of legendary Swedish rally ace, Stig Blomqvist, who notched up seven wins in his native Sweden and won the 1984 World Rally Championship.

With many major wins in 2019, Porsche has added another chapter to its tradition-steeped history. The world champion title in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), the title in the North American IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, victory in the overall classification of the fiercely-contested Intercontinental GT Challenge and, last but not least, the successful debut of the factory squad in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship have made the 2019 motor racing season one of the most successful in the company’s history. The ADAC GT Masters will have a capacity grid in 2020, as 23 outfits have already taken the early opportunity to secure their place in the ADAC GT Masters, entering 39 super sports cars for the 2020 season. According to the regulations, a maximum of 34 vehicles from the 39 cars registered will be allowed a place on the grid. The ADAC GT Masters will open the 2020 season in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben on the weekend of 24th-26th April.

Thanks to its teams Audi Sport customer racing in 2019 clinched 578 trophies, including 237 victories, in more than 750 races around the globe. For the first time, four models were fielded – the Audi RS 3 LMS as well as the GT2, GT3 and GT4 versions of the Audi R8 LMS.
