FIVE FERRARIS TO TACKLE THE 6 HOURS OF SPA

Seven months after the last race held at the Circuit of the Americas and following the radical alterations to the calendar brought by the pandemic, the FIA WEC World Championship is back with the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Five 488 GTEs will tackle the challenging Belgian track in the last round before the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As announced a few days ago, the 24 Hours will be held behind closed doors, just like next weekend’s race in the Ardennes.

Flying Lizard Motorsports celebrated an incredibly successful weekend at Sonoma Raceway, the team’s home track of the last 17 years. The GT4 America race weekend produced three wins and two additional podium finishes between the Sprint and SprintX triple headers. The No. 210 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 of Michael Dinan and the No. 21 Aston Martin of Dinan and Robby Foley had an incredibly strong performance all weekend, earning the team their first wins at the road circuit. While the No. 30 McLaren 570S GT4 again had a weekend filled with adversity, the driving pair of Erin Vogel and Michael Cooper again put in strong performances despite the desired results.

The 2019-2020 season of the World Endurance Championship resumes after more than a 24-week break due to the coronavirus pandemic. On August 15, round six of the World Endurance Championship WEC will be held at Spa-Francorchamps. Porsche tackles the six-hour race with two of the latest 911 RSR racers. The defending world champions Michael Christensen (Denmark) and Kévin Estre (France) share the cockpit of the No. 92 car, with their teammates Richard Lietz (Austria) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) joining forces in the No. 91 Porsche. The factory squad returns to Belgium with positive memories: Last year, Porsche claimed an early world championship title in the GTE-Pro manufacturer’s classification. Cur-rently, the title defender ranks second in the GTE-Pro class after five races. Following an exciting opening weekend, Porsche Carrera Cup GB – the fastest single marque GT racing championship in the UK – welcomed the arrival of its second consecutive weekend of action with two Friday Practice sessions on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit. Porsche GB 2020 / 2021 Junior Harry King (Team Parker Racing) and teammate Josh Webster (Team Parker Racing) engaged in a close battle during the morning session, Porsche GB Junior King finishing ahead by the slimmest of margins – just 0.005secs. The Takanokono Hotel FUJI GT 300km RACE, Round 2 of the 2020 AUTOBACS SUPER GT series, was held at the Fuji Speedway (one lap 4,563m×66 laps) in Shizuoka Prefecture on August 9 (Sun). In the GT500 class, the No. 17 KEIHIN NSX-GT (Koudai Tsukakoshi/Bertrand Baguette) starting from 2nd position on the front row of the grid took the lead and continued to run far ahead of the pack to win the race.
