John Edwards, Jesse Krohn and Augusto Farfus co-drove BMW Team RLL’s No. 24 MOTUL BMW M8 GTE to a third-place finish in today’s 10-hour IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship MOTUL Petit Le Mans to score the team’s sixth consecutive podium finish. The trio led the GTLM class multiple times, made 11 pit stops and completed 431 laps of the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta to finish 4.412 seconds behind the winning Porsche. Each BMW driver had their turn at the front of the GTLM field with Farfus taking the lead for the final time on lap 401, four laps after the class cycled through their final stops. Unfortunately, two laps later he was pushed off by a prototype car in turn 12 and had to run through the grass along the outside of the front straight. As a result, he had to pit again to clean the grill, dropping some 26 seconds to the leaders. Charging back, he took advantage of collision by a competitor to secure the podium finish as the race ended under caution.

The Whelen Engineering Cadillac drivers Pipo Derani (Brazil), Felipe Nasr (Brazil) and Filipe Albuquerque (Portugal) finished fifth in today’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.), Alessandro Balzan (Italy), and Jeff Westphal (San Mateo, Calif.) won the GTD Class in today’s running of the IMSA WeatherTech Championship Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

At “Petit Le Mans” on the Road Atlanta racetrack, the Porsche GT Team has achieved its first win in this year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. Works drivers Nick Tandy (Great Britain), Frédéric Makowiecki (France) and Matt Campbell (Australia) won the ten-hour race in the US state of Georgia by a narrow 1.779 seconds. The second Porsche 911 RSR, driven by Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium), Earl Bamber (New Zealand) and Mathieu Jaminet (France), became entangled in an accident in the turbulent final phase and reached the finish line in fifth place. After nine of eleven races, Porsche ranks third in the GTLM manufacturers’ championship.

The Konica Minolta Cadillac racing team won today’s running of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

There have now been eight different winners in nine races. Henric Skoog (24, SWE) and Nick Yelloly (29, GBR, both Schubert Motorsport) driving a BMW M6 GT3 cruised to victory in Saturday’s ADAC GT Masters race at the Red Bull Ring. Their triumph in the 199th race of the Super Sports Car League was the first for BMW this season. Porsche drivers Robert Renauer (35, GER) and Sven Müller (28, GER, both Precote Herberth Motorsport) finished second on the Austrian Formula 1 circuit, with third place going to Erik Johansson (24, SWE) and Jens Klingmann (30, GER, both MRS GT-Racing) in another BMW. “After our somewhat faltering start to the season, this success is an important one for the whole team,” said winner Henric Skoog at the finish. “The guys were incredibly happy. We’re now looking to excel again tomorrow.” Sunday’s race in Austria will be the 200th in the history of the ADAC GT Masters.

The No. 57 Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 will start sixth for the Motul Petit Le Mans on Saturday. Misha Goikhberg posted a 1:19.666-second lap to put the Acura on the third row for the 10-hour endurance event.

International GT Open debutant Ahmad Al Harthy made a strong and positive start to his maiden weekend in the pan-European championship during pre-event practice on Friday, 16th October, at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium – the Oman Racing driver’s first race meeting for 12 months.

Third time’s a charm. Shinya Michimi continued to impress on Friday as he put the No. 86 Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 on the pole after posting a 1:19.291-second lap for Saturday’s Motul Petit Le Mans. The qualifying run marks Michimi’s third time qualifying at the 2.54-mile circuit and Saturday will mark his third  race start at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta.

The ninth round of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship run over ten hours is called “Petit Le Mans“. The Porsche GT Team has secured grid positions four and six in the GTLM category. Belgium’s Laurens Vanthoor lapped the 4.088-kilometre Road Atlanta circuit in the No. 912 Porsche 911 RSR in 1:15.657 minutes. His works driver colleague Nick Tandy from Great Britain set a lap time of 1:15.858 minutes in the No. 911 sister car.

Conditions for the first practice session of the ADAC GT Masters at the Red Bull Ring were wet and cold as the 100th race weekend in the Super Sports Car League got underway. Porsche driver Robert Renauer (35, GER, Precote Herberth Motorsport) coped best with the tricky conditions.

Philip Massoud will be joining B-Quik Absolute Racing for Thailand Super Series (“TSS”) 2020, which will finally get underway at the end of the month. The highly rated Australian driver will partner up with Henk Kiks in the No 26 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo.

Team Raton Racing returns to action. After changing its 2020 programs due to pandemic impact, the squad led by Roberto Tanca is set for the most important European GT event, fielding a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo car in the next edition of 24 Hours of Spa scheduled on 24th/25th October.

McLaren Professional Driver, Ollie Wilkinson will make his Total 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps debut on 22-25 October, where he, Rob Bell and Joe Osborne will give the McLaren 720S GT3 its maiden outing in the 72nd running of the twice around the clock endurance race.

The 71st edition of the Spa 24 Hours will take place for the first time in autumn. From 22 to 25 October, the three Audi Sport customer racing teams will compete in the world’s biggest GT3 race to clinch their fifth victory after 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2017, but the traditional Coupe du Roi brand title and valuable championship points in the GT World Challenge Europe as well as the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) are also up for grabs in Belgium.
