Audi Sport customer racing can look back on a list of outstanding successes at the end of a highly compressed season with its customers. Even though the number of races worldwide in the 2020 pandemic year was down by around 37 percent, the Audi Sport customer racing models were similarly successful in their categories as in the previous year.

In an extremely thrilling finale of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC), Audi Sport Team WRT improved from seventh place to second position. Mirko Bortolotti/Frédéric Vervisch/Charles Weerts crossed the finish line 22 hundredths of a second behind the winners in the rain chaos behind the safety car. However, in addition to the joy about the improvement in the course of the race, there was also disappointment in the Audi camp: victory seemed within reach shortly before the end.

Team Honda Racing will start the 2020 Kyalami 9 Hour from pole position after Mario Farnbacher set a new qualifying lap record ahead of tomorrow’s Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli championship showdown.

K-PAX Racing turned its successful GT World Challenge America team into global operation by setting its sights to Europe in 2020. There, the multi-championship winning team stateside would stack its two-car Bentley Continental GT3 program up against some of GT3 racing’s most elite, featuring a season of firsts with an expanded operation simultaneously covering two continents.

It’s been a busy two months for Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) with the team having claimed its second consecutive IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with the Acura NSX GT3 following the season finale at Sebring International Raceway in November. 

Next year’s Kyalami 9 Hour – which once again stages the final round of 2021’s Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli campaign – will take place on December 3-4.

United Autosports are delighted to confirm that they will bring on board the team from HHC Motorsport to strengthen their GT team.

There will be no clash of dates next year between three of the world’s top GT series. The ADAC and Stéphane Ratel’s SRO Motorsport Group have aligned their calendars for 2021 to make it possible for teams and drivers to contest the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli, the GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS and the International German GT Championship in the ADAC GT Masters. Also, the ADAC and SRO intend to go on working together and intensify cooperation in other areas.

Porsche heads to the final round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC) with a very clear goal: The sports car manufacturer from Stuttgart is eager to defend its titles at the nine-hour race in Kyalami. The customer squads GPX Racing and Dinamic Motorsport will each field a 500+hp Porsche 911 GT3 R in the Pro-category at the South African racetrack close to Johannesburg. In the Pro-Am class, the Hack Racing team campaigns the identical model of the GT3 racer from Weissach.

The international motorsport landscape is currently undergoing a raft of changes – and as a result, this also applies to the works-based BMW Motorsport team line-up. Therefore, the long collaboration with the iconic BMW Teams RBM and Schnitzer will not continue. BMW Team RMG will be working with BMW Motorsport to develop the new BMW M4 GT3 in the coming season.

Work is well underway to ensure that next year’s Total 24 Hours of Spa and SRO Spa Speedweek provide spectators with an unforgettable return to the legendary Ardennes venue, including activities both on and off the circuit.

Three manufacturers and nine driver crews will battle for Intercontinental GT Challenge Powered by Pirelli title honours at the season-closing Kyalami 9 Hour next weekend (December 10-12).

After several podiums in 2019, Bullitt racing is back to GT4 South European Series, this time for a full season with two Mercedes-AMG GT4 and the surprise Mclaren 570S.

Founded ten years ago, the Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing Programme also remains on course for success in its anniversary season. In spite of various races being cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation, the international AMG Customer Racing Teams were again able to rack up numerous victories and titles, seamlessly continuing their successful streak from the record years 2018 and 2019. In 320 races with participation of Customer Racing cars from Affalterbach this year, there were 69 overall wins and 169 class wins. In the course of the season, a total of 97 customer teams ran the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the Mercedes-AMG GT4 all over the world – more than ever before in the ten-year history of the programme. With their achievements at the race track, the teams and drivers collected more than 25 championship titles for the Mercedes-Benz performance and sports car brand.

Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) has finalized its 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship lineup and is pleased to announce that Juan Pablo Montoya has signed with the team to compete in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds in the No. 60 MSR Acura ARX-05 Prototype.
