The 2021 Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS season is underway following the opening American event at Sonoma Raceway (6-7 March), which is quickly followed by this weekend’s inaugural Australian contest at Phillip Island (12-14 March).  

United Autosports are delighted to confirm that Gus Bowers and Dean Macdonald will join their GT4 team for 2021.

Era Motorsport’s sophomore season in professional sports car racing has been one for the history books, with the team kicking the year off with victory at the Rolex 24 At Daytona in January, followed by clinching the Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 Am championship in February. In addition to running the full LMP2 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Era has also secured entry into the 24 Hours of Le Mans and has confirmed participation in the European Le Mans Series, both with IDEC Sport. Kyle Tilley, Dwight Merriman, and Ryan Dalziel, who all drive in the IMSA effort, will be the three drivers in both the Le Mans and ELMS entries.

Ollie Wilkinson will join multiple Le Mans-winning team JOTA for an attack on the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS championship this year, in what will be his first season as a McLaren Factory Driver. 

Kevin Gilardoni will remain with Oregon Team for a full season assault on the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe. After making his series debut last year, the Italian/Swiss racer is looking forward to a front-running challenge in 2021.

United Autosports are delighted to confirm that Paul Di Resta will join their LMP2 team for the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours.

BMW Customer Racing teams will open the 2021 SRO America season at Sonoma Raceway, in Northern California, this weekend, March 5 – 7. The 2.385-mile, 12-turn road course in the hills of California’s wine country will host Rounds 1 and 2 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS as well as the supporting GT America, Pirelli GT4 America, and TC America series.

After making a dramatic change to its program in the off-season, TR3 Racing is eager to go racing again in 2021 as the Florida-based team prepares for its return to the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS.

The thorough groundwork done by the GRT Grasser Racing Team pays off once again. After the recent announcement by the outfit of its line-up for the 2021 ADAC GT Masters, preparations for the GT World Challenge Europe are now also taking concrete shape. The Austrians will be making their return to the Endurance Cup with two Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVOs. Lamborghini Juniors Tim Zimmermann and Kikko Galbiati have been named as the first of the two driver pairings who will contest the prestigious GT3 championship. The focus for the young duo will be the Silver Cup.
