RLR MSport’s Mike Benham, Alex Kapadia and Malthe Jakobsen had podium potential but were ultimately resigned to a ninth-place result in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS) 4 Hours of Monza (9-11 July).

COOL Racing picked up a pair of fourth place finishes during the 4 Hours of Monza in a battling performance at the Temple of Speed.

Daniel Harper and his BMW Junior Team partners Max Hesse and Neil Verhagen recorded a remarkable second consecutive victory in the Nürburgring Endurance Series with a fantastic performance this past weekend (10/11 July).

The fourth round of the European Le Mans Series was held at Monza this weekend. After a difficult start in practice, the French team scored its first victory since its creation. Often unlucky despite a high level of performance, the drivers, the engineers and the technical staff are finally rewarded for their efforts and the quality of their work over the last six years. By leaving Italy as a race winner, Team Principal Olivier Panis and his partners Sarah and Simon Abadie are approaching the Le Mans 24 Hours with an increased desire to reach once again the top of the podium in LMP2.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing aims to maintain its 100% winning Hypercar record this week when the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) returns to Italy for the first time in nearly 30 years for the 6 Hours of Monza.

United Autosports have scored another double podium today in both LMP2 and LMP3 at Monza as the #22 Oreca 07 of Phil Hanson, Tom Gamble and Jonathan Aberdein finished second, with Wayne Boyd, Edouard Cauhaupe and Rob Wheldon also finishing second in the #2 Ligier JS P320. 

Lamborghini moved back into the lead of the International GT Open points standings following a third win in six races for Vincenzo Sospiri Racing’s Frederik Schandorff and Michele Beretta at the Hungaroring. The pair headed the sister VS Racing Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo of Yuki Nemoto and Baptiste Moulin in Race 1 and bagged third place in Sunday’s second race.

Audi was the dominant manufacturer at the third race weekend of the season in the German GT Championship: after yesterday’s success, Charles Weerts (20/B) and Dries Vanthoor (22/B, both Team WRT) claimed a second victory for the brand with the four rings in Sunday’s race. Second place for Mercedes-AMG drivers Maximilian Buhk (28/Hamburg) and Raffaele Marciello (26/I, both Mann-Filter Team Landgraf – HTP/WWR), and third place for Rolf Ineichen (42/CH) and Franck Perera (37/F, both GRT Grasser Racing Team) meant the podium featured three different manufacturers. “I really like the circuit here in Zandvoort and it is nice to have won here,” said winner Charles Weerts. “The whole weekend has been very good for us, with fifth place on Saturday, followed by pole and the win today.”

COOL Racing added to its championship tally with both cars on a difficult weekend for both crews. Qualifying was promising, with Antoine Doquin adding a third place to his two pole positions so far this season. Maurice Smith put in another solid performance and took eighth for the #69 Ligier JS P320.

United Autosports have won the third round of the 2021 Michelin Le Mans Cup at Monza.

Andrea Montermini is wearing again a racing suit and helmet for the Italian round of the 2021 Le Mans Cup. The event is underway at the Autodromo Nazionale in Monza as third round of the season.

After Thursday’s pre-race testing day, 1 AIM Villorba Corse is ready for the 4 Hours of Monza. Fourth round of the 2021 European Le Mans Series on July 9-11, Italian event is the only home racing weekend on the ELMS calendar for the team led by Raimondo Amadio. that lines up #18 Ligier JS P320 powered by Nissan for racing drivers Alessandro Bressan, Damiano Fioravanti and Andreas Laskaratos. The two Italian and the Greek are expecting a high-revs weekend in the Temple of Speed and the event is particularly felt by the whole team, that will try to make up for the last two complicated races at the Red Bull Ring and Le Castellet, conditioned by unforeseen and unfortunate events.

RLR MSport is chasing podium success upon the European Le Mans Series and Michelin Le Mans Cup’s return to the historic and evocative Autodromo Nazionale Monza (9-11 July).

The second half of the 2021 European Le Mans Series begins this week in northern Italy, and the No. 17 IDEC SPORT / Era Motorsport LMP2 car will be one of 44 entries competing in the 4 Hours of Monza. Following a strong performance but early retirement at the Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship last month, the trio of Kyle Tilley, Dwight Merriman, and Ryan Dalziel hope the progress made on their racing machinery in the states will benefit the European race program as well.

Team principal Gottfried Grasser and his crew are aiming for a first win of the season and have therefore recruited from Italy to reinforce the squad manning their four-strong fleet of Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO cars.

Time for the long-awaited double home appointment at Monza for Alessio Rovera on the #88 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE. After several national victories, the 26-year-old Italian driver from Varese, some 50 km from Monza, will return racing on the Autodromo Nazionale to face this year’s challenges of the international endurance events promoted by ACO / Le Mans and FIA. On July 9-11 the 4 Hours of Monza will be the round of the 2021 European Le Mans Series, while the following weekend (July 18) will host the 6 Hours as third round of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
