A number of forced and unforced errors made BMW Team RLL’s finishes in this afternoon’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Continental Tire Road Race Showcase a disappointing sixth and eighth. With the weather forecast changing towards a more favorable one than predicted yesterday, the green flag flew to start the race.

Corvette Racing’s Antonio Garcia and Jan Magnussen extended their GT Le Mans (GTLM) Driver’s Championship lead Sunday with a fourth-place finish at Road America in the Continental Tire Road Race Showcase.

Pipo Derani and Johannes van Overbeek broke a seven-race win streak for Cadillac, co-driving their No. 22 Tequila Patrón Nissan to victory at Road America.

The victory is Kristoffersson’s third event win in a row – and fourth of the season – and has seen the Swede extend his lead at the top of the driver standings by 35 points. It is also the first time in World RX history that a driver has finished on the podium in seven consecutive events.

Ford ended a six-race winless drought to close the points deficit in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship GT Le Mans class on Sunday at Road America.
