ADJUSTED: A NEW RULING FOR THE PERFORMANCE WEIGHTS
Prior to the DTM round at Moscow Raceway, the DMSB partly changed and redefined the procedure for the allocation of the performance weights. The rule change comes into force with immediate effect.
Wittmann Schnellster On pole
Text: Marco Wittmann fuhr im Qualifying für das Samstagsrennen der DTM auf dem Moscow Raceway die Bestzeit. Trotzdem wird der BMW-Fahrer das Rennen nicht von der Pole-Position aus in Angriff nehmen. Beim Rennen auf dem Norisring handelte sich Wittmann aufgrund eines Zwischenfalls mit Mattias Ekström seine dritte Verwarnung in der laufenden Saison ein und wird dafür fünf Startpositionen nach hinten versetzt. Die erste Startreihe bilden so die beiden Audi-Fahrer René Rast und Mike Rockenfeller, die die Zeitenjagd auf den Plätzen zwei und drei beendeten. Dahinter bilden Augusto Farfus und Timo Glock eine weiß-blaue Reihe zwei.
Wittmann hat mit der Bestzeit von 1:27,035 Minuten seine eigene Pole-Zeit aus dem Vorjahr – im Sonntags-Qualifyings war er 2016 mit 1:28,776 Minuten Schnellster – deutlich unterboten. Der Rückstand des auf Rang neun bestplatzierten Mercedes-AMG-Piloten, Gary Paffett, betrug mehr als eine halbe Sekunde.
Das Samstagsrennen auf dem Moscow Raceway startet um 14:40 Uhr deutscher Zeit. Das Erste überträgt ab 14:30 Uhr live aus Russland. Online können Fans das neunte DTM-Saisonrennen auf http://DTM.com verfolgen.

Marco Wittmann (BMW), Platz eins: „Das war mit der Strafe der maximale Job, den ich machen konnte. Das war echt mega. Wir haben viele Änderungen am Auto gemacht, da ich im Freien Training noch ein bisschen unzufrieden war. Die sind alle aufgegangen. Natürlich bin ich happy mit P1. Letztes Jahr hatte ich hier die Pole im zweiten Rennen, dieses Jahr wieder ein erster Platz im Qualifying. Ich mag die Strecke, es scheint hier auch immer wieder ganz gut zu funktionieren. Wenn du Pole hast, möchtest du natürlich auch da bleiben, aber ich muss mit der Zurückversetzung um fünf Plätze leben. Das ist der minimalste Nachteil, den ich mir erarbeiten...
