Making the quick turnaround from Watkins Glen International to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), the No. 31 Whelen Engineering Racing DPi-V.R will be back in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition this Sunday as the team heads north for round seven of the 2018 championship.

Bringing the championship points lead and an unforgettable livery that celebrates the nation’s history, the No. 5 Mustang Sampling Racing entry will be back in IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship action this weekend as the series heads north to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP).

Sunday’s Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is the only one of the 12 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship races held in Canada, which makes it a unique event for all involved with the series.

Timo Bernhard (37, GER, KÜS Team75 Bernhard) has had a busy few months, making his debut in the ADAC GT Masters, driving a Porsche 911 RSR in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, setting a new lap record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife at the wheel of a Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo and preparing for the 24 Hours of Spa with his own team.

Performance Tech Motorsports is competing in its own 72-hour race against the clock as the team prepares for the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

The International GT Open is nearing the half-season mark. As it has become customary, the turning point will take place at the Hungaroring, the twisty track on the hills outside Budapest that relaunched international motorsports into Central Europe three decades ago. The event, with its usual summer atmosphere and the splendor of the nearby Hungarian capital as an additional attraction, promises to be extremely attractive this year too with 27 cars entered for the event.

Cadillac V-Performance Racing teams Konica Minolta Cadillac, Mustang Sampling Cadillac and Whelen Engineering Cadillac are headed north of the border to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix to run July 6-8.

Bob Neville’s Team RJN has become synonymous with campaigning Nissan machinery in the Blancpain GT Series. 

WeatherTech Racing drivers Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Jeff Segal (Miami, Fla.) along with the Scuderia Corsa team are heading north for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix to run at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), July 6-8.

Drivex heads to Hungary for Round 4 of the International GT Open and the Spain-based outfit is a hot favorite after its top results achieved by Marcelo Hahn and Allam Khodair with the Mercedes AMG GT3. As announced the past week, Drivex is doubling its efforts in the series and a second Mercedes AMG GT3 for Ricardo Baptista and Carlos Eduardo “Cacá” Bueno, two other top-tier Brazilian drivers, will be lined up. 

There are just five days between the six-hour race at Watkins Glen (USA) and the start of the race weekend at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville (CAN). Although the two IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship circuits are only around 300 miles apart, this is one of the most challenging weeks for the BMW Team RLL. This is particularly true for the logistics team, which delivers an outstanding performance between the two events.

The GRT Grasser Racing Team completed a positive and rewarding official test day at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit for the preparations of the 70th edition Total 24 Hours of Spa, with over 60 cars taking part in yesterday’s session featuring 8 hours of track time.

Oman Racing and Ahmad Al Harthy made a highly competitive start to preparations for this year’s Total 24 Hours of Spa during the official test day for the twice-round-the-clock encounter in Belgium on Tuesday, 3rd July, with the fourth fastest time in the Silver Cup class.

If there is a home venue for Corvette Racing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, then Canadian Tire Motorsport Park would be it. So it’s understandable that there is great excitement within the perennial championship-winning program as it heads north of the U.S. border again to race in front of the Canadian fans.

With more than 60 cars taking part, the Official Test Day produced an interesting insight into the cars and drivers that will tackle the 70th edition Total 24 Hours of Spa. Following eight hours of running in good weather, the quickest Total 24 Hours of Spa entrant was the #991 Herberth Motorsport Porsche, which just edged in front of the #23 GT Sport Motul Team RJN Nissan GT-R.

The Total 24 Hours of Spa will mark its landmark 70th edition in spectacular fashion thanks to a 68-strong entry list that features world-leading drivers, teams and manufacturers.  

The Spaniard will contest another round of the 24H GT Series at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve. Tutumlu will drive a Car Collection Motorsport-run Audi R8 LMS with Ali Çapan, Siegfried Kuzdas and Stefan Aust as teammates. Portimão is the second 24-hour race of the season for the Barcelona native.

Formula E is set to race in Sanya next season, marking the return of the electric street racing series to Mainland China on March 23 – for round six of the 2018/19 ABB FIA Formula E Championship.
