BLOMQVIST CAPTURES PETIT LE MANS POLE FOR MEYER SHANK RACING

Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) made one leap forward in its IMSA WeatherTech DPi Championship fight with Tom Blomqvist capturing his third career DPi pole position at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on Friday. 

PORSCHE CUSTOMER TEAMS PLAY IT SAFE IN QUALIFYING AT ROAD ATLANTA

The 911 GT3 R fielded by the Porsche customer team Pfaff Motorsports heads into the final race of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season from position seven in the GTD-Pro class. Works driver Felipe Nasr avoided taking any risks at Road Atlanta in order to preserve the car. The goal: to win all titles in the ten-hour race on Saturday.

K-PAX RACING NAMES 2022 INDY LINE-UP

K-PAX Racing proudly announced Friday its 2022 Indianapolis 8 Hour line-up. The team, after clinching the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS Championship early in the penultimate rounds of the season at Sebring International Raceway, will stage its regular two-car Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO effort at the famous Brickyard with an expanded driver line-up to meet the requirements of the endurance race format.

STEPHEN AND BRENTON GROVE REVEAL FIA MOTORSPORT GAMES GT LIVERY

Stephen and Brenton Grove have taken the wraps off their 2022 FIA Motorsport Games livery where they’ll seek for another medal in the GT category. This year will see Stephen Grove captaining the Australian team in what will be an all-star line-up.

PORSCHE 963 TO COMPETE IN NORTH AMERICA WITH PROVEN LUCKY NUMBERS

The two Porsche 963 from Porsche Penske Motorsport will tackle the 2023 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship flying the race numbers 6 and 7. These digits are well known to the partners, Team Penske and Porsche, from their joint effort with the RS Spyder – and are associated with many great memories for both world-class companies. The ca. 500 kW (680 PS) hybrid prototype for the newly created GTP class will be showcased to the public for the first time in the USA at the final weekend of the 2022 IMSA season at Road Atlanta.

TSS THE SUPER SERIES: SINGAPORE GP QUALIFYING REPORT

TSS The Super Series today took to the Marina Bay Street Circuit for the first time this weekend where it’s supporting the Singapore Grand Prix with the afternoon action culminating in the Qualifying session to decide the grid for tomorrow’s 25-minute Race 1.

THOMPSON WINS IN PORSCHE CARRERA CUP NORTH AMERICA IN ATLANTA TAKING CHAMPIONSHIP TO TOMORROW’S FINALE

Parker Thompson (Canadian-native living in Indianapolis, Indiana) drove a flawless race to earn his fifth win of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America Presented by the Cayman Islands season today at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. His victory at the Braselton, Georgia-track moved the No. 9 JDX Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car to within five points of the Pro class championship leader Kay van Berlo (native of the Netherlands studying in Miami, Florida) with one race remaining to be run. In the Pro-Am class, Efrin Castro (Dominican Republic) won his eighth race of the season on the 2.54-mile, 12-turn circuit. It moved his No. 65 Kelly Moss Porsche to within nine points of leader and teammate Alan Metni (Austin, Texas) in the No. 99. The Am class also saw the title contenders finish one-two with John Goetz (Weston, Connecticut) piloting the No. 57 Wright Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car to a second victory of the year just ahead of championship leader Mark Kvamme (Columbus, Ohio). Goetz trails the No. 43 MDK Motorsports machine by 11 points.

DXDT RACING ASSEMBLES STRONG LINEUPS FOR THE INDIANAPOLIS 8 HOUR

This October, the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS series will conclude the 2022 race season with the biggest race of the year: The Indianapolis 8 Hour. Mercedes AMG customer racing team DXDT Racing will be armed with stout lineups, adding Valentin Pierburg and Patrick Assenheimer to the No. 63 Mercedes AMG GT3 and No. 08 Mercedes AMG GT3, respectively. Aiming for the overall win in the Pro class and the win in the Am class, the team will shake up the lineups in both cars, moving David Askew and Scott Smithson to the same car while Dirk Muller and Bryan Sellers race alongside in the sister car.

The 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup North America Presented by the Cayman Islands season ends with rounds 15 and 16 at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, September 29 – 30. The premier one-make series has enjoyed remarkable growth in its second season in all areas. This weekend that continued success includes on-track action with 35 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race cars entered for the Braselton, Georgia track. Championships in its three classes and the Entrants title are all undecided as practice begins on Wednesday, September 28. The 2.54-mile, 12-turn race course with its long straights, sweeping corners, technical turns and elevation changes cut through the red Georgia clay northeast of Atlanta plays host to the final two 40-minute races of the series’ second year. With four drivers capable of capturing the Pro class title, two in the Pro-Am category and three in the Am class – all racing the same type 992 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car directly based on the road-going Porsche 911 GT3 – who will stand at the front of the Celebration of Champions to receive the impressive list of awards and trophies all comes down to this weekend.

MERCEDES-AMG WANTS TO CONTINUE ITS WINNING STREAK IN IGTC DURING THE INDIANAPOLIS 8 HOUR

After Bathurst and Spa, the next highlight in the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli (IGTC) is on the schedule for Mercedes-AMG. In the Indianapolis 8 Hour, the teams with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 want to continue their successful streak. During the season opener at Mount Panorama, there was a lock-out of the top three, followed by another overall win in the 24-hour race in the Belgian Ardennes. With five out of six possible podium slots, Mercedes-AMG is clearly in the lead of both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ standings. The upcoming 8-hour race in Indianapolis (8th October 2022) is the penultimate IGTC round and also the finale of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. In total, eight Mercedes-AMG GT3 are competing at the world-famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
