Fresh from the podium at the Spa 24 Hours, Strakka Racing next heads to Japan for the Suzuka 10 Hours, where the squad finished in second place overall in 2018. AIM VASSER SULLIVAN (AVS) scored two top-10 finishes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at Road America on Sunday, including a fourth-place result for the No. 14 Lexus RC F GT3, driven by Jack Hawksworth and Richard Heistand.

Who will be crowned champion to mark the mid-point in the ADAC GT Masters? The holiday season is well underway, but the ADAC GT Masters will be returning from its summer break to race at the Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands next weekend (9th-11th August). At the holiday resort on the North Sea, the ADAC GT Masters will stage the fourth of seven race weekends in total on the circuit in the dunes which will feature on next year’s F1 calendar. We’ve had four different winners so far this season, driving four different makes of car – Audi, BMW, Corvette and Porsche – so the guest round at this top-class circuit in the Netherlands should prove to be very exciting. More than 30 GT3 sports cars, representing eight brands, will challenge championship leaders Patric Niederhauser (27, CH) and Kelvin van der Linde (23, ZA, both HCB-Rutronik Racing) in the Audi R8 LMS for the top spot while three Dutchmen – Jeroen Bleekemolen, Indy Dontje and Kelvin Snoeks – will want to do exceptionally well in their home fixture.

WHELEN ENGINEERING RACING BATTLES TO FOURTH IN IMSA ROAD RACE SHOWCASE

Whelen Engineering Racing fought to a fourth-place finish in Sunday’s IMSA Road Race Showcase at Road America. The race was the eighth of the 2019 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, which has two rounds of racing remaining for the DPi Championship.

MUSTANG SAMPLING RACING SIXTH IN UPHILL BATTLE AT ROAD AMERICA

Starting on the fourth row, Mustang Sampling Racing faced an uphill battle in Sunday’s IMSA Road Racing Classic at Road America. But the championship caliber team fought all the way, with Joao Barbosa and Filipe Albuquerque finishing sixth in the No. 5 Mustang Sampling Cadillac DPi-V.R.

FIFTH PLACE FINISH FOR MEYER SHANK RACING AT ROAD AMERICA

Keeping the big picture in mind, Meyer Shank Racing drivers Mario Farnbacher and Trent Hindman focused on growing their 30-point IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship lead heading into the IMSA Road Race Showcase on Sunday. The duo brought home the No. 86 AutoNation Acura NSX GT3 fifth in the GTD standings, and provisionally maintain the championship lead by 25 points.

PORSCHE GT TEAM DEFENDS IMSA CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD WITH PODIUM RESULT

The Porsche GT Team continues its series of podium results at round eight of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship: Laurens Vanthoor (Belgium) and Earl Bamber (New Zealand) achieved third place after an immaculate drive in their Porsche 911 RSR at the Road America racetrack and thus have extended their lead in the drivers’ championship even further. In the race over two hours and 40 minutes, Patrick Pilet (France) and Nick Tandy (Great Britain) scored seventh place in the No. 911 sister car. In the manufacturers’ classification, Porsche still holds a convincing lead. In the GTD class, Porsche Young Professional Matt Campbell (Australia) and his teammate Zacharie Robichon (Canada) brought home victory in the Porsche 911 GT3 R fielded by Pfaff Motorsports.

Luck wasn’t on the side of Corvette Racing on Sunday as the team logged fourth- and sixth-place finishes in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s Road Race Showcase at Road America.

For the third straight race, a Soul Red Crystal Mazda RT24-P was driven into the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar victory lane as Jonathan Bomarito and Harry Tincknell scored victory at the IMSA Road Race Showcase at Road America.

BMW TEAM RLL FINISHES FIFTH AND EIGHTH AT ROAD AMERICA

BMW Team RLL salvaged a top-five finish in today’s IMSA WeatherTech Championship Road Race Showcase, at Road America, in Elkhart Lake, Wis., with the No. 25 BMW M8 GTE of Tom Blomqvist and Connor De Phillippi, after a very difficult day. After leading a handful of laps, John Edwards and Jesse Krohn finished eighth in the No. 24 BMW M8 GTE following brake failure mid-race. The car completed the two-hour-and-forty-minute race, but after repairs cost four laps, a deserving result was impossible.
