BMW Junior Team ace Daniel Harper endured a frustrating day of action in the third event of the 2021 Nürburgring Endurance Series on Saturday (1st May), with an early incident derailing his challenge in the race.

Alessio Rovera marked his FIA WEC debut taking a brilliant victory in LMGTE Am class at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on Ferrari 488 Evo GTE. The 25-year-old Italian driver shared the #83 AF Corse car and all the first round of the 2021 World Endurance Championship together with teammates François Perrodo from France and Nicklas Nielsen from Denmark.

Cetilar Racing made its category debut claiming its first ever podium in the FIA WEC Championship. Roberto Lacorte, Giorgio Sernagiotto and Antonio Fuoco secured the LMGTE Am third position in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, first of the 2021 calendar, after completing a perfect race in the Ferrari 488 GTE EVO car run by AF Corse. This result is a milestone for Cetilar Racing, competing for the second season in the FIA WEC after a year in the LMP2. 

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing began the Hypercar era in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) with a landmark victory in the Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps following an exciting start to the 2021 season in Belgium.

Preparations by Mercedes-AMG Motorsport for the ADAC Total 24h Race are in full swing. In the final round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) prior to the season highlight at the Nordschleife, the AMG Customer Racing Teams were able to rack up further valuable test mileage. The best-placed Mercedes-AMG GT3 in the GT3 field, particularly strong with 33 cars, was the #16 Mercedes-AMG Team HRT entry in tenth place overall. In the SP9 Am class, Moritz Kranz (GER) and Janine Shoffner (GBR) managed to repeat their victory from the second NLS round with the #9 GetSpeed Performance Mercedes-AMG GT3. The effort by BLACK FALCON Team TEXTAR was also successful with the second 1-2 of the 2021 season in the combined classes SP4T+SP8T. With third place in the SP10 category, the #162 GT4 of the Schnitzelalm Racing customer team also scored a class podium finish.

The Aston Martin Vantage GTE entered by TF Sport took a hard-earned second place in the first round of the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) GTE AM class on Saturday.

Porsche has won the opening round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at Spa-Francorchamps. Works driver Kévin Estre from France and Neel Jani from Switzerland drove a commanding race in the No. 92 Porsche 911 RSR to claim victory in the hotly contested GTE-Pro class. For Estre, who had already dazzled at Friday’s qualifying with a record lap, this marks the second win in a row at the six-hour race in Belgium. Jani triumphed at his first outing with the Porsche GT Team. The sister car driven by their brand colleagues Richard Lietz (Austria) and Gianmaria Bruni (Italy) crossed the finish line in fifth place after a difficult race.

United Autosports have won the opening round of the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship by claiming their fifth FIA WEC win out of the last six races.

The 2021 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season will shift up a gear next weekend when the Sprint Cup campaign launches at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours.

As the GT4 America championship gets underway for Rounds three and four of the season, sports car racing team Marco Polo Motorsports with crew from Muellerized… has confirmed its full-season entry into the SRO America-sanctioned series. The KTM team kicked off the season last month at Sonoma Raceway, earning a fourth and third place finish in the double-header.

BMW M Motorsport has now taken the next important step in the development of the new BMW M4 GT3. The new flagship in the portfolio of cars from BMW M Motorsport successfully completed a series of test drives on the Nürburgring Nordschleife (GER) on Thursday. The two BMW works drivers Augusto Farfus (BRA) and Jens Klingmann (GER) shared driving duties.

Born in 1995, the Italian driver from Varese will take part in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps on Saturday, May 1, after testing at the Belgian track during the two-day Prologue early this week. The Italian GT double champion (2019, 2020) is going to share the #83 AF Corse Ferrari with French driver François Perrodo and Nicklas Nielsen from Denmark in the LMGTE Am class for the whole season. After being second fastest overall at the ELMS official test two weeks ago, Rovera started his FIA WEC campaign setting the second quickest time (2:15.576) on Monday’s afternoon session and being fifth fastest 24 hours later (2:15.454).

Audi will return to Le Mans and to sports prototype racing with an electrified sports car in the 2023 season. The successor to the successful Audi R18 is already taking shape.

Taylor Hagler will be racing back on home soil for Rounds Three and Four of the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS at Circuit of the Americas April 30th to May 2nd. Hagler will be joined by teammate Jacob Abel in the No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 Evo. 

The Porsche works team contesting the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) has successfully completed its preparations for the 2021 season. In the official two-day tests on the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, the two Porsche 911 RSR covered a total distance of 2,977 kilometres. The main focus of the tests was on the setup and tyre use as well as optimising the procedures within the team. In the so-called prologue of the WEC, the two ca. 515 hp factory cars from Weissach impressed with fast and steady lap times. Works driver Kévin Estre from France turned the fastest lap in the GTE-Pro class in 2:12.916 minutes.

Almost two months have passed since SRO America began the 2021 sports car racing season at Sonoma Raceway, and at long last, competition resumes this weekend at Circuit of the Americas. DXDT Racing, armed with a fleet of Mercedes AMG GT3 cars and a Honda Civic Type-R, will contest in six races in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America Powered by AWS, GT America Powered by AWS, and TC America powered by Skip Barber Racing School. Circuit of the Americas, the famed Formula 1 circuit in Austin, Texas, will host the three double-headers, serving up an action-packed weekend of diverse sports car racing on its 3.4-mile circuit.

Three Aston Martin Vantage GTEs will compete for FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) GTE AM honours as D’station Racing, NorthWest AMR and TF Sport all vie to give the car its first world title in the class when the 2021 series begins at Spa-Francorchamps, in Belgium, on Saturday.

Cetilar Racing is set to embark on its second full-season programme in the FIA WEC as the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps kicks-off the 2021 campaign this coming weekend, 29th April/1st May.
