Porsche Visit Cayman Islands Sprint Challenge GB arrived at Donington Park with the championship battles in both categories still to be decided. Four drivers entered the weekend with a chance of claiming overall glory, but it was Harry Foster (Team Parker Racing) who emerged ahead, securing the 2022 Pro category title at the penultimate race of the season. Meanwhile, Carl Cavers (Valluga) enjoyed a perfect weekend to take the Am category title in style.

THREE TITLES UP FOR GRABS IN THE ADAC GT MASTERS FINALE

Decision time at the Hockenheimring. The iconic racetrack in the German state of Baden-Württemberg is the venue for the final round of the 2022 German GT Championship. The favourite to clinch the title is championship leader Raffaele Marciello (27/CH). The Mercedes-AMG works driver comes into the final two races of the season with a 42-point lead and, with support from team-mate Daniel Juncadella (31/E), holds all the aces. However, even a comfortable lead like this is no guarantee in the fastest GT3 series in Germany. This is something that Marciello’s closest rivals Christian Engelhart (35/Starnberg) and Ayhancan Güven (24/TR) from Team Joos Sportwagentechnik are also aware of in the Porsche 911 GT3 R. They will be on the attack and looking to put the leader under pressure from minute one.

The Ligier of Josh Caygill, Finn Gehrsitz and Bailey Voisin claimed second place in LMP3, having overcome extremely tricky track conditions caused by intermittent rain showers in Portugal.

Laurin Heinrich travels to the eighth and final race weekend full of confidence: At the penultimate round on the Sachsenring, the youngster from SSR Huber Racing claimed the crown in the one-make cup. This makes the 21-year-old Porsche Junior the first driver in seven years to take home the championship title before the final weekend. One finale – at stake at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg from 21st to 23rd October is nothing less than the title in the 2022 German GT Championship. Seven drivers in Mercedes-AMG, Porsche and Lamborghini cars are still in with a mathematical chance of taking overall victory. The man to catch is Raffaele Marciello (27/CH) from Mann-Filter Team Landgraf: the Mercedes-AMG works driver tops the Drivers’ Championship with a comfortable 42-point lead. But will that be enough to be crowned champion in the fastest GT3 series in Germany? 56 points are still up for grabs at the finale. Marciello’s closest rivals are Christian Engelhart (35/Starnberg) and Ayhancan Güven (24/TR) from the Joos Sportwagentechnik team – despite the deficit, the Porsche drivers refuse to accept defeat. Also hanging onto their slim hopes are third-placed Fabian Schiller (25/Troisdorf) and Jules Gounon (27/F) in the #4 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo. Trailing their fellow Mercedes-AMG driver at the top of the championship by 53 points, they still have a mathematical chance of snatching the trophy. It is a similar story for Jack Aitken (26/GB) and Albert Costa Balboa (32/E) from Emil Frey Racing in the #63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo, who lie a further point back in fourth place.
