UNITED CLAIM FIFTH PLACE IN MONZA AFTER UNLUCKY BREAKS ROB THEM OF PODIUMS

United Autosports finished fifth in the 6 Hours of Monza today (10 Jul) – unlucky breaks robbing the US-flagged team’s pair of ORECAs of likely podium finishes. Alex Lynn/Oliver Jarvis/Josh Pierson swept their #23 ORECA from the very back of the field earning United its fifth FIA World Endurance Championship LMP2 top-six result of the season.

DOUBLE MONZA PODIUM FOR TOYOTA GAZOO RACING

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing earned a dramatic double podium finish in the 6 Hours of Monza after an exciting but ultimately frustrating fourth round of the 2022 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

DEMPSEY-PROTON RACING WINS THE 6 HOURS OF MONZA GTE-Am CLASS

The Porsche 911 RSR fielded by Dempsey-Proton Racing has won the GTE-Am class at the six-hour race of the FIA WEC in Monza. In the No. 77 car, team owner Christian Ried and the two UK drivers Sebastian Priaulx and Harry Tincknell beat the opposition over the line. In the GTE-Pro class, the two works cars took the flag in positions four and five.

BEST PORSCHE 911 RSR TACKLES MONZA TEMPLE OF SPEED FROM THE SECOND GRID ROW

The best Porsche 911 RSR in the GTE-Pro class tackles the six-hour race in Monza (Italy) from position four. At the wheel of the No. 91 car, local hero Gianmaria Bruni was 0.220-seconds faster than his brand colleague Michael Christensen (Denmark). In the GTE-Am category, Christian Ried planted the No. 77 car fielded by Dempsey-Proton Racing on the third grid spot.

14 MERCEDES-AMG GT3’S WITH HIGH CLASS LINE-UPS TO COMPETE IN THE 24 HOURS OF SPA

From 28th till 31st July, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in the Belgian Ardennes once again serves as the venue for the legendary TotalEnergies 24 Hours of Spa. This year, the entry list for the world’s biggest GT3 race includes 66 cars from nine renowned manufacturers, competing in five different classes. Mercedes-AMG Customer Racing aims at the maximum in all the various categories during the 74th running of the endurance racing highlights and is therefore entering an accordingly impressive line-up with 14 Mercedes-AMG GT3s for the race. The Mercedes-AMG Teams AKKODIS ASP, GetSpeed and GruppeM are racing in the Pro category in the prestigious 24-hour event and will receive extended works support from Affalterbach to do so.

BMW M TEAM RLL FINISHES FIFTH IN GTD PRO AT CTMP

The No. 25 BMW M Team RLL BMW M4 GT3, driven by Connor De Phillippi and John Edwards, finished fifth in today’s Chevrolet Grand Prix, the sixth round of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The team looked to the two-hour-and-forty-minute race, at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, to bounce back from the disappointment of having the win at Watkins Glen taken away due to a drive time penalty, but any hope of getting back to the GTD PRO class podium was eliminated after the right rear wheel and tire fell off the car on lap five. Edwards, who had started from the third position, got the car back to the pits, but with almost one lap lost the team’s day was over. The remaining 106 laps of the race were uneventful ones as Edwards recovered to run as high as fourth before pitting for De Phillippi on lap 60.

On his birthday, his good fortune returned: Felipe Fraga claimed his maiden DTM race win in DTM Norisring powered by BMW M on Sunday, his 27th birthday. After multiple retirements, it was also the first success of the season for Red Bull AlphpaTauri AF Corse Ferrari, the teams’ champions of the 2021 season. Fraga is the first Brazilian DTM race winner since Augusto Farfus’s victory at Zandvoort in 2013. The birthday boy was accordingly happy: “This is the best birthday f my life! Thanks to everyone in the team, we have deserved this so much.”

SAELENS AND LONGIN HOLD ON FOR GT2 EUROPEAN SERIES RACE TWO VICTORY AT MISANO

The Misano World Circuit played host to a belter of a second Fanatec GT2 European Series race for round three in Italy, with the PK Carsport duo of Stienes Longin and Nicolas Saelens hanging onto outright victory by a tenth of a second from Am class winner Henry Hassid in the LP Racing Audi.
