K-PAX Racing is set for the opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season, taking place at Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy this weekend (April 22/23).
The Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS will remain a central pillar in European GT racing in 2023 with a comprehensive program of Audi Sport customer racing teams. A total of 23 Audi R8 LMS cars in the three categories GT3, GT2 and GT4 are registered for various race series that are part of the platform of promoter SRO.
More M Power than ever before: A record contingent of eight BMW M4 GT3s will take to the grid for this weekend’s opening round of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS (GTWC) at Monza (ITA). Never before have so many of BMW M Motorsport’s top GT3 cars started a race together. In the battle for overall victory in race one of the Endurance Cup, BMW M Team WRT and ROWE Racing will each run two works-assisted BMW M4 GT3, driven by a total of twelve BMW M works drivers. They include nine-time motorcycle world champion Valentino Rossi (ITA), who will contest all of this season’s GTWC races with his iconic number 46, beginning with a home outing in Italy.

Two Lamborghinis for a déjà vu the Italian way. A new chapter begins for the Grasser Racing Team from April 21 to 23. At the season opener of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, the squad from Austria will celebrate their race premiere with the new Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2. The third generation of the GT3 machine from Lamborghini Squadra Corse follows in the footsteps of its ancestors at a historic venue in Monza. GRT will start the new era with two cars on the legendary Grand Prix circuit next weekend. The number 58 entry will be driven by Ricky Capo, Sam Neary and Fabrizio Crestani. There is a driver change in the sister car. In the number 85, Kay van Berlo shares the cockpit with Clemens Schmid and Benjamin Hites.
Season three of the Fanatec GT2 European Series is ready to go green for round one at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Italy this weekend, 21-23 April, with a host of new teams, cars and drivers ready to battle for the 2023 titles.
Porsche Penske Motorsport has wrapped up round two of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve with a podium result. After six hours of racing, Laurens Vanthoor, Kévin Estre and André Lotterer crossed the finish line third with their Porsche 963. For the works team, this marks the second major success with the LMDh prototype within a few hours: In Long Beach, California, their team colleagues had won the 100-minute sprint race in the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship, with the sister Porsche 963 securing third place. In the GTE-Am class, a Porsche also clinched a podium result in Portugal. At the wheel of their Iron Dames’ 911 RSR, Sarah Bovy, Rahel Frey and Michelle Gatting fought hard for victory over long stretches and ultimately reached the flag in third place.
The Ferrari 499P of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen finished second at the 6 Hours of Portimão, the first European round of the FIA World Endurance Championship. The sixth place of the other Prancing Horse Hypercar, driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi, rounded off the weekend. Ferrari said goodbye to Portugal after achieving the target of finishing with both cars entered in the top class.
DTM is all set for the 2023 season. A new era under the aegis of the ADAC will start at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 26th to 28th May. Fans of the globally popular racing series can look forward to seeing a spectacular field in sports cars from premium manufacturers Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche. A total of 28 drivers and 14 race teams are ready for the 37th season. “We are all set for the first season of the DTM under the ADAC umbrella. With 28 world-class drivers, 14 teams and strong partners, we have laid the foundation for a successful DTM season. Sustainable fuel and the proven concept of the ‘Bottle Free Zone’ from the ADAC GT Masters are helping us to set new standards for sustainability in the DTM. As we head into a new era for the DTM, we aim to pursue this path consistently in the future. We are looking forward to the season-opener in Oschersleben, as the DTM returns there for the first time since 2015,” said ADAC Sport President Dr. Gerd Ennser at a press conference during DTM testing on Sunday at the Red Bull Ring.

The new Porsche Penske Motorsport works team celebrates its first victory with the Porsche 963 hybrid prototype. At round three of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, the No. 6 car driven by Nick Tandy and Mathieu Jaminet came out on top after a gripping race. In the 100-minute sprint through the streets of Long Beach, their team colleagues Matt Campbell and Felipe Nasr took the flag in third place with the No. 7 car. In the GTD-Pro category, Pfaff Motorsports scored a podium result with the Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Three races, three wins for the BMW M4 GT3: the BMW Junior Team has completed the hat-trick for BMW M Motorsport in the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS). On Saturday, BMW M works drivers Neil Verhagen (USA), Dan Harper (GBR) and Max Hesse (GER) won the third race of the season on the Nürburgring Nordschleife (GER) in the #44 BMW M4 GT3 from the BMW M Team RMG.
