PODIUM SUCCESS FOR SCHEIDER, JENSON AND BMW TEAM SCHNITZER AT ADAC GT MASTERS OPENER

BMW works driver Timo Scheider (GER) and BMW Motorsport Junior Mikkel Jensen (DEN) started the 2018 season of the ADAC GT Masters with podium success. The BMW Team Schnitzer duo initially crossed the finish line in fourth place at the wheel of the #42 BMW M6 GT3 in the race on Saturday in Oschersleben (GER).

WHELEN ENGINEERING RACING FINISHES SEVENTH AT LONG BEACH

Strong strategy, fast pit stops, and commanding passes from the Tequila Patrón ESM squad earned the team a second place finish Saturday afternoon at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s BUBBA burger SportsCar Grand Prix at Long Beach. Scott Sharp and Ryan Dalziel piloted the Nissan Onroak DPi to a second place finish, earning the No. 2 car’s first podium of the 2018 season.

Two ADAC GT Masters newcomers caused a major upset in the season opener at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The Audi pairing of Max Hofer (18, AUT) and Philip Ellis (25, GB, both Phoenix Racing) driving an R8 LMS secured a lights-to-flag victory from pole position in the first competitive outing of the twelfth season of the Super Sports Car League. Finishing in the runner-up spot at the end of a thrilling race were the Lamborghini duo of Mirko Bortolotti (28, ITA) and Andrea Caldarelli (28, ITA, both ORANGE1 by GRT Grasser), just 0.245 seconds behind the winners.

NIEDERHAUSER AND BASTIAN DENY FFF RACING IN BLANCPAIN GT SERIES ASIA SEPANG THRILLER

Patrick Dussault is a talented young driver currently competing in Porsche GT3 Cup Platinum Canada. Following a successful open-wheel career that lead him to go race in England, Patrick has moved on to sports car racing. Dussault is very focused when it comes to racing and is excited to see what motorsports have in store for him. He is currently racing for Lauzon Autosports. GT POWER IN THE “GREEN HELL”: BMW M6 GT3 LINE-UP CONFIRMED FOR THE 24H NURBURGRING

BMW is once again represented with a strong contingent at this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours (GER). The majority of those alternating at the wheel of the two BMW M6 GT3s fielded by ROWE Racing, with works support from BMW Motorsport, will be drivers from the GT works programmes in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. A total of five BMW M6 GT3s will line up in the “Green Hell”. As well as ROWE Racing, FALKEN Motorsports will also run one car, while Walkenhorst Motorsport fields two BMW M6 GT3s. Among those in action at the wheel of the car in the livery of Premium Technology Partner Shell will be Augusto Farfus (BRA).

Opened in 2010, the ‘Circuito de Navarra’ in Los Arcos in the Spanish Navarra region is a new venue for the CREVENTIC SERIES powered by Hankook. For the Hankook 12H NAVARRA, running from noon till midnight on Sunday, 22 April, over 20 GT3, GT4, silhouette cars, specials and Porsche Cup cars are expected on the grid. The Hankook 12H NAVARRA is the second round of the European Championship in the 24H GT SERIES powered by Hankook.

The ABB FIA Formula E Championship heads to Europe this Saturday, 14th April, for the first Rome (ITA) E-Prix. BMW works drivers António Félix da Costa (POR) and Tom Blomqvist (GBR) return to the cockpits of the MS&AD Andretti cars.
