The Selleslagh Racing Team driver controlled proceedings after taking the lead early in the race. BMW Motorsport Junior Nico Menzel (Team Macrix by RN Vision STS) finished the 40-minute sprint race in second position just ahead of HTP Motorsport driver Tim Heinemann.

In bright sunshine, the Dutchman held off a late-race charge by Belgium’s Gilles Magnus to win the first of two 40-minute races in his #8 MDM Motorsport BMW M4 GT4. Magnus finished in second position, ahead of Gabriele Piana.

Porsche, BMW and Mercedes hope to claim victory on their home soil, with outsider Ginetta aiming to surprise the German manufacturers.
