Sunday afternoon at the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Road America, GTSA driver Mike Hedlund scored a third place finish, earning the 95th podium for Flying Lizard Motorsports. The No. 45 Audi R8 LMS GT4 drove to his fourth podium finish of the year, leading the team’s three car charge in the double header weekend.

The Pirelli World Challenge is halfway complete, and this weekend, the series journeys to Elkhart Lake Wisconsin for the Grand Prix of Road America. Flying Lizard Motorsports will return to the fan favorite track with its two full season Audi R8 LMS GT4 sports cars in addition to a third entry of a Porsche 911 GT3 R, driven by Flying Lizard customer Andy Wilzoch.

Flying Lizard Motorsports earned its 94th podium on Saturday at Virginia International Raceway at the Pirelli World Challenge Grand Prix of Virginia. Mike Hedlund and the No. 45 Audi R8 LMS finished tenth overall in race two, scoring a second place finish in the GTSA class, Hedlund’s second podium of the 2018 season.

After a month break in the Pirelli World Challenge GTS calendar, Flying Lizard Motorsports returns to VIRginia International Raceway this weekend for rounds three and four of the SprintX championship with Mike Hedlund, Adam Merzon, and Ryan Eversley in the pair of Audi R8 LMS GT4 cars. In preparation for the event, the team has completed three days of testing at this particular track, in both dry and wet conditions, confident with the progress made entering into the next rounds of the championship.

The Grand Prix of Texas stands as the second race weekend of the year, but the first for the SprintX championship: a new championship placed within the existing championship. Located just south of Austin, Texas, the world class facility of Circuit of the Americas will host four days of on track action, and Flying Lizard Motorsports will compete with Audi R8 LMS GT4s, driven by Mike Hedlund, Adam Merzon, and Ryan Eversley.
