BMW works driver Timo Scheider (GER) and BMW Motorsport Junior Mikkel Jensen (DEN) started the 2018 season of the ADAC GT Masters with podium success. The BMW Team Schnitzer duo initially crossed the finish line in fourth place at the wheel of the #42 BMW M6 GT3 in the race on Saturday in Oschersleben (GER).
BMW Motorsport heads into the coming ADAC GT Masters season with a strong mixture of experience and talented youngsters. BMW Motorsport Juniors Mikkel Jensen (DEN) and Dennis Marschall (GER) are given the opportunity to prove themselves at the wheel of the BMW M6 GT3 in which they will race alongside and learn from a two-time DTM champion.
On 4th February, the iconic Mount Panorama Circuit will host one of the most spectacular races in Australia: The Bathurst 12 Hour. Following its debut at this event in 2017, the BMW M6 GT3 returns to the grid at this year’s endurance classic. BMW Team Schnitzer from Germany and BMW Team SRM from Australia will each run a BMW M6 GT3. In addition, the Australian fans will see the new BMW M4 GT4 in action for the first time.
BMW factory driver Philipp Eng in a BMW M6 GT3 entered by BMW Team Schnitzer is currently placed second in the ADAC GT Masters. With two race weekends in the Super Sports Car League still to go, the Austrian plans to pile on the pressure in the battle for the title.
