2018-19 FIA WEC SEASON KICKS OFF WITH FIVE FERRARI CREWS

The Super Season of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) kicks off this weekend. The championship will last more than a year, concluding in about 13 months with the 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours. Next year’s proceedings will open with a race at Sebring, followed by the second race at Spa-Francorchamps in May and the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.

The second race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season (second round of the North American Endurance Cup) extended a 66-year tradition as Sebring International Raceway played host for the annual 12 Hours of Sebring. Perfect conditions saw the race run at a frantic pace in the opening stages before being slowed by a series of caution periods in the second half of the event. As darkness fell, the final two hours of the race featured a sprint to the finish with Ferrari once again well figuring in the final results.

WeatherTech Racing today announced that they will be joining forces with Scuderia Corsa to campaign a GTD Class 2018 Ferrari 488 GTE in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship next season. Cooper MacNeil (Hinsdale, ILL.) will be teamed with Alessandro Balzan (Italy) for the 11-race schedule.
