M1 GT Racing kicked off the 2018 season in the Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) program two weekends ago at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg in sunny Florida. Competing in their new Audi R8 LMS GT4, the team managed to secure their first podiums of the year with team driver Jason Bell. Now, with one event weekend under their belt, the Florida based team and driver have their sights set on a race win this coming weekend during rounds three and four at the prestigious Circuit of the Americas.

“The team had a great weekend at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg,” explains Technical Director Remi Lanteigne. “We had a weekend of hard work and dedication by everyone in the M1 GT organization and ended up with solid results for Jason. We have had very limited test time with the new GT4 car and continue to learn with each passing lap, but we are excited about the entire program.”

M1 GT Racing has had many successes at the Circuit of the Americas and will look to continue them over the March 23-25 weekend. In 2017, M1 GT Racing captured three podium finishes out of four attempts in the Pirelli World Challenge SprintX program. The team will return to the facility for the promoters’ test day on Thursday and is excited at the opportunity to build on the success of the GT4.

Lanteigne continues, “After starting off the 2018 season in St. Pete with good results, we are ready to take on the next event in Austin. St. Pete provided us with the confidence boost that we are one of the best teams on the grid and are prepared for another successful weekend. COTA is an amazing facility and we are excited to return after the successes we had in 2017 at the track.”
