uncos Racing finished off a successful run at the Chris Griffis Memorial Test in the Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires field this past weekend with Kyle Kaiser, Nicolas Dapero, and Andre Negrao.

Drivers from around the world participated in the two-day test among the three series in the Mazda Road to Indy ladder system on the 2.439 mile, 14-Turn road course located at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Juncos Racing ran for a combine 384 laps among the eight sessions.

Kyle Kaiser (Santa Clara, California) returned to Juncos Racing for the test after finishing third in the 2016 Indy Lights Championship Presented by Cooper Tires. Kaiser was one of two drivers completing tire testing for Cooper Tires during the two day event.

“It was great working with Cooper Tires this test,” said Kaiser. “We got to try a lot of different stuff and we made some great progress. We gained some valuable data from testing the past two days, and I’m looking forward to more development during the offseason.”

Nicolas Dapero (Buenos Aires, Argentina) had a strong showing in his first official appearance in the Indy Lights car during the two day test. Dapero recently completed the 2016 Pro Mazda Championship where he earned one win and multiple podium finishes.

“It was great to be back in the Indy Lights car again and even better for an official test,” said Dapero. “I learned a lot from my teammates and tried to put everything into practice the team told me. I also put down more miles in the car which is useful for next year! I think we did a really good job the whole weekend and it showed that we are ready for next season. I want to thank all of the members of Juncos Racing for their awesome job!”

Andre Negrao (Campinas, Brazil) gave a solid run in his first appearance with Juncos Racing, earning the fastest time overall in the second session. Negrao competed in the 2016 Indy Lights Championship with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, where he claimed five podium finishes.

“My test with Juncos Racing was amazing for the one day we ran,” said Negrao. “I enjoyed every second in the car! It was simply an amazing feeling. I just want to say thank you to all of the team for giving me this opportunity to test with them. I hope to continue this momentum into next season as well and look forward to contending for the championship!”

Team Principle Ricardo Juncos said “We had a great weekend with all three drivers at the Chris Griffis Memorial test. Everyone gave a strong run in each area they worked on. Kyle (Kaiser) had a great tire test with Cooper Tires, and was able to provide a lot of information going into the 2017 season. Nico (Dapero) gave a solid run in his first official appearance in the Indy Lights car. He has really grown within the team and Mazda Road to Indy series in the past 2 years, and I look forward to seeing the success continue next year. Andre (Negrao), who only ran the first day of the weekend, showed great speed and consistency and was fastest overall in the second session. I am really impressed with all three drivers and look forward to seeing what happens for the 2017 season.”
