After Enaam Ahmed had been already announced, Hitech Grand Prix welcomes two more new faces to their line-up for their 2018 FIA Formula 3 European Championship campaign: Ben Hingeley from Wales and Alex Palou from Spain.

Ben Hingeley joins the Silverstone-based outfit from a 2017 BRDC British F3 campaign, in which he was engaged in some thrilling battles claiming third position in the standings with four wins and seven podiums. He was one of the main opponents of Champion Enaam Ahmed, who now becomes his team mate in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The 20-year-old Hingeley has impressed his new team during the winter tests. „The recent tests with us in Formula 3 were very impressive and made us confident in him making the step up to FIA Formula 3 European Championship for 2018,” Hitech Grand Prix team principal Oliver Oakes acknowledged.

Hingeley is happy with his new drive: „I’m really excited to racing with Hitech GP in FIA Formula 3. Hitech are an exceptionally professional team in the way they work and operate and I’m really delighted to be working with them this year.”

Another newcomer in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship is Alex Palou, who is returning to Europe after one season in the Japanese Formula 3 Championship. His season record with three wins, five pole positions and ten podiums made him an interesting prospect for teams in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. “It’s great to have Alex joining our team,” Oakes said. “I have followed him over the last years and he has consistently showed that he is an extremely quick and competent driver.”

“I’m super excited to compete in the FIA Formula 3 and even more excited to be joining Hitech Grand Prix,” Palou said. “I know that both, the team and I, are hungry to fight for the Championship together. The winter tests went really well and I’m looking forward to racing back in Europe this year.”
