Waikato University student Taylor Cockerton has been a busy young man in the last two weeks. Gaining a last minute call up for the International Toyota racing Series for his third successive season the former New Zealand formula Ford Champion was fourth in the round one of the series in Christchurch.
Pukekohe motor racer Taylor Cockerton has travelled far and wide in just two weeks to race in Christchurch then Malaysia before returning to Invercargill on Friday.
The 20-year-old was called up for the international Toyota Racing Series earlier this month for the third successive season and the New Zealand Formula Ford champion finished fourth in round one of the series in Christchurch.
He was then quickly off to Malaysia on the Sepang Formula One circuit to test the Audi R8 GT3 car for Le Mans class winner KCMG.
Cockerton, also a student at Waikato University, was then soon back in New Zealand, and Invercargill, to drive for MTEC, where he went wide at turn four at Teretonga Park and backed his car into the tyre wall, before returning to compete in round two of the Toyota Racing Series.
